Gamerscore Cheaters Get Scarlet Letter “C”
There’s an old saying that cheaters never win and it seems like Microsoft is putting more substance to that saying when it comes to their Xbox Live and Gamerscore service. A while back they stated something would be done about those who have gamesaved and cheated their way to a high Gamerscore. Today they put the hammer down on those people and even gave them their own Scarlet Letter C.

Take a look at the Gamercard below and you’ll see how these gamers have been marked for all to see their shame. There’s a Gamescore Corrections page to get familiar with the actions taken for those of you who are caught cheating. Here are the basics of what will happen…
A LIVE player who obtained their gamerscore in this abnormal way will:
- Find their gamerscore reset to zero, and
- Be unable to regain all previously earned achievements, and
- Be labeled as a “cheater” for the community to view.
Bravo is all I have to say on this! I’ve never understood the point with obsessing over Gamerscore especially when you cheat to increase it.

so does the POW 000002 in DJ’s motto mean he is the 2nd “prisoner of war” to be be reset? (if so I wonder who was 1st to go? lol) or is that just his real motto? is this how MS is labeling these losers?
gotta say, Kudos to the Live team for finally cracking down on this…it makes me feel even better about my LEGIT gamerscore…

Wow… just wow. The community has been wanting this for a long time, I see it all over the place on the forums and am always locking threads when they get out of hand.
Now I need to go make sure the boards are under control over this great news. *poofs*

WOW.. I say way to go MS!! I say they also make a list so the community can see who all the cheaters are and make people think twice before they do it…
I am proud of my gamerscore especially because I was able to do what was required to get the achievement when I would think to myself there is no way I can get that many headshots!!! LOL…

People, do Microsoft (XBL) think they are the cyber police ?
They are supposed to be clamping down on gamerscore cheats which are harmless and don’t affect anyone or their gaming.
Which brings me to my point, if Microsoft wanted to really do something to help “The Community” why don’t they tackle the one sole singular lone issue which has been plagueing and getting peoples backs up more than this pathetically minor issue.
Modded Controllers are ruining gameplay, creating unfair advantages, and when you consider that members of the XBL “Community” are paying for a Premium service to that of the PS3 then why can Xbox Live not target the people blatantly abusing the rules and system and tampering with gameplay there must be some way to identify someone fired like a million shots within so long surely ???
