As far as I am concerned, Sony and MS are neck and neck in this crazy console battle. I think the next console will be the one that changes gaming in a far more significant way than ever before. I really think by the time it hits (2010?), many folks will no longer collect discs with movies or games on them. They’ll DL them at very fast rates on their true next gen entertainment console. They will giggle at those crazy memories of people arguing about which movie format will be the next best thing and having to wait in lines for the next Halo. They’ll simply select “Download Halo 4 When Available” and that’s that.

I also don’t think it is too far fetched to believe that game developers will start developing games for one type of console for the next generation. It just doesn’t make much sense to me (and I really don’t know anything about developing video games) that a company would develop the same game for PC, PS3, 360, Wii, DS, PSP, etc…

On the other hand, I might be full of poo and none of this will happen.

I wonder what % of that PS3 sales is to people who are buying the PS3 for BR movies. I keep reading on forums about people buying the PS3 for BR movies 1st, then maybe games 2nd. The question is going to be will those PS3 sales # generate GAME sales. I don’t see that happening. With the 360 sales #s you know people are going to buy the games. Just look at CoD4. It’s owning PS3 sales.

MSG4, FF13, GTA IV will not save the PS3.

I think DB means that company’s never have shortages, they make shortages as part of some master plan. All the new 360′s coming on the market should be fresh and longer lasting. The PS3 barley outsold the 360 and they’re rare at the moment. XD

The only time I can see the PS3 selling at decent numbers is when MGS4 comes out and FF13 (I think that’s what it’s up to). O and GO LOST ODYSSEY!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Party at my place yall bring the food cause we gotz none.

Fourzerotwo is swimming in a pool of money right now lol. And its good to see Lost Odyssey selling well. Usually JPRPG’s dont fair well here unless its stamped with Final Fantasy on the box.

Go to any Best Buy or Circuit City and it’s obvious the shortage is real. I haven’t seen a Premium or Elite in stores for months. I’ve seen an Arcade box once, and my friend who works at Best Buy in the gaming section reports the same. I think you should do a pre-recorded show and do a Five Calls segment and get to the bottom of this.

Oh yeah, about the sales numbers, the Xbox 360 is DESTROYING the PS3, and the PS3 will never catch up, no matter how many times Sony drops and raises the price on their blu-ray player. If they think that giving away MGS4 for free is going to give them any kind of substantial boost, they’re ignorant. MGS is not that high of a system seller, GTA is. I’ve never heard a single person in real life mention MGS4, and I talk gaming with many, many people.

i never believe shortage supplies lol. Nintendo’s, Sony’s etc. billion dollar companies are never caught off guard. i’m not too sure what’s going on but i do know it needs to be addressed quickly…heck it may even be too late that it matters.

You don’t believe a shortage in supply? Last I checked the arcade sku was the only thing available close to me. I know a goal for them is to sell titles and that’s working. I’ve got a nice little collection growing in just my 1st year of owning an Xbox 360 and the lists keep growing of titles I’d like to get. I think I’ll be doing my share to keep titles in the top 10.
