Monday Morning Scripted – Future Proof
Happy Monday! We had a great live show Saturday which made for a wonderful weekend. The weather was good, the show was good and shame to those of you who missed it. I’ll post the recap for you feed, Zune and iTunes subscribers tonight. We had a winner to the Get Rez’d giveaway who decided not to claim the redeem code so we all know what that means. I’ll fire off a message via Xbox Live to a new winner.
It turnes out Microsoft issued a statement to cease production on its HD DVD player while the show was going on and just as we were talking about HD DVD. This was just to go ahead and remind us all again of what we knew. What I can’t understand are the people who seem to think that their HD DVDs and their players have suddenly stopped working. They still work! If you don’t want your player or movies, feel free to send them my way.
I saw American Gangster on DVD this weekend because I couldn’t make it out to see Vantage Point. I suppose it was a decent trade-off considering American Gangster was pretty good. I’m going to have to find No Country For Old Men in the theaters somewhere. I’ve always wanted to see it and after winning the Best Picture Oscar last night, I want to see a bit more now.
We’re up to $170 on the donation effort. I made a link straight to it for convenience. You can donate directly here. Again, I appreciate the donations and hopefully soon we can reach our goal. Enjoy the week!

Sup peeps!!! Had a good time calling into the show (even though you put me on blast about my 360 DeaconBlade!!). I’ve since gotten it off the floor but the 360 would get the 3 red lights regardless because of how it was made.
I checked out Vantage Point this weekend and its a great movie!
A lot of flashbacks occur in the film that get annoying sometimes but its key to the film. A lot of twist and turns but overall entertaining.
I thought I read somewhere that Toshiba will continue to distribute HD-DVD’s until May??? Doesn’t really affect me since I don’t own one but I feel for the ones that do.

HD… Yes they work and yes titles are available, but that is going to dry up down the road. Real shame, but fact is its now EOL and Blu-Ray wins. My local Best Buy had well over a dozen of the HD players for the Xbox if someone is looking for one.

yep they’ll dry up but that doesn’t stop anyone’s current library of HD DVDs from working. they’ll always work.

That is correct player should work great and what ever the existing line of content will be great and if you make your own HD content and can buy media for that great as well. Just sucks that no future content will be available. I really wish it would have one. A cool feature to me was standard movie on one side and HD on the other, great for portable/standard players (car player). I don’t think Blu-Ray does that with their titles. I’m sure you could still find a Beta player or Divix player too.

Perfect time to comment: HD-DVD add on is $50 at Best Buy, KMart, and other places.

I don’t mind finding a bargain. Sure movie selection will be limited, but it’ll suffice for a while!

Ouch… why must you tempt me this way? Must resist this urge and drastic slash in pricing!
