NPD Sales January 2008
Prepare for massive amounts of “what the hell” as January’s NPD numbers make their way around the interweb with a surprisingly last place finish for the Xbox 360. Yes that means that the PlayStation 3 outsold the Xbox 360 during the month of January by an amazing 41,000 units. As it turns out just about everything outsold the Xbox 360 last month.

That must be the reason it is beating Halo 3 in UUs for the past couple of weeks on LIVE.

I maintain that a shortage of hardware in the post holiday season is the cause of low hardware sales.

It was bound to happen, but from what I heard some couldn’t find 360s in January….ie a shortage.

i think its because basically everyone who wants a 360 already has one and thats why we have 4/10 best selling games

Shortage of Wii’s maybe. There was no shortage of 360′s. At least not in most parts of the US.
Glad to see COD4 doing so well. It restores my faith in the common sense of the gaming community when games that actually deserve to be rewarded are given their due.
