Dark Sector Too Violent?
There’s an interesting article coming out of IGN Australia that D3Publisher’s Dark Sector is just a tad bit too violent for Aussie land. For instance, ”When Hayden cuts off his opponent’s limb with the glaive, large amounts of blood spray forth from the stump and the injured person screams in agony which increases the impact.”

This is one of the examples given in a report that cites the numerous accounts of violence in the game. The game may by delayed but if nothing can be done to tone down what’s considered “too violent” for Australia, then the game won’t receive a classification. So there’s a potential for the game to not be released at all. What say you? Do you fear the glaive?

i think they should need to stop making all those violent games for a while now. I have NOTHING against violent games, but i just think there are too much of them ATM.

I’m really getting sick of these wanna be know it alls labeling the industry as too violent…this crap is ruining the creativity of the developers..I’m looking forward to DS and if it gets delayed b/c some pansies in AU are turned off by a little bit of blood and dismemberment I will be angered…surely they don’t put up this big of a stink when this type of violence is seen in movies and/or TV…

I just wish the same attention would be paid to movies and TV as there is towards video games. Or vice-versa. Just leave video games alone. To be honest if it wasn’t for video games keeping me out of trouble, I would probably be in jail, or have an adult criminal record.
