Capcom is set to make quite a few gamers happy in just two days!  Warm up your broadband connections. The Devil May Cry® 4 playable demo hits both the PLAYSTATION®Store and Xbox LIVE® Marketplace this Thursday, January 24, 2008.

The demo introduces gamers to the gothic-inspired supernatural world of Devil May Cry 4, new protagonist Nero and the awesome power of his Devil Bringer.  The demo consists of a sampling of sections from the full game, chosen to showcase Devil May Cry 4’s varied locales, allowing gamers to familiarize themselves with Nero’s unique abilities. Players will receive instruction on the various new actions that the Devil Bringer bestows, such as the ability to slam creatures to the ground, cover great distances in a single bound or even grab enemies while on the ground or in the air and pull them towards Nero to continue an attack combo.

Devil May Cry 4

The Exceed system allows Nero to “rev up” his sword as if it were a motorcycle throttle and unleash devastating attacks. Players will need to master all these techniques before the end-of-demo showdown with the mighty Berial.  Get ready for some action ladies and gents.  I’ve been waiting to see this game on the Xbox 360 so bring it on!

Here’s a preview for the second picture pack from U360.  It’s coming soon to the Xbox Live Marketplace and I think it has some very cool Gamerpics for everyone to use.  There are 10 Gamerpics included and it’ll cost 100 Microsoft Points when released.

I really appreciate the huge response to the first content released and I hope it continues to grow with each release.  It’s been great seeing so many people, even outside of U360, downloading the content.

Ready to take on some 3rd person action?  Primarily a score-based game, The Club is Bizarre Creation’s take on the third person shooter.

The gameplay is fast paced and very arcadey; don’t even think about hiding behind cover in this one folks! A unique new scoring system asks you to chain kills together in quick succession, building up your combo and grabbing you more points. The higher your combo the faster the bar ticks down, so it gets tougher and tougher to continue your deadly killing spree.

Download the demo today! (finally for North American inhabitants)

I’m enjoying a day off today but I couldn’t forget about the Monday Morning Scripted fans out there.  Happy  Monday and thank you Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for all your contributions

We had a great live show this past Saturday with the Catch 22 winners all being announced.  Episode #58 is for those who missed out on the fun.  Congratulations to those of you who took the time to follow up on your Catch 22 entry.  I encourage everyone out there to really READ what the articles have in them.  I always have all the information needed for whatever the subject is.

We had some who apparently had no interest in scoring the free redeem codes.  That means I have to pick 5 more winners of the Catch 22 event.  So pay attention!  I have 3 remaining Metal Slug and 2 remaining SpongeBob SquarePants Underpants Slam codes.  First come, first served for the 5 gamers to message me on Xbox Live wanting to win.

Undertow

This week we’ll have a free Xbox Live Arcade title coming our way.  Undertow is going to be free for download for five days beginning this Wednesday.  I finally learned how to play Omega Five this weekend and I had a lot of fun with it.  You have to play for a certain amount of time to increase the number of credits you have.  One hour gets you 5 additonal credit and if you play for five hours, you get an unlimited number of credits.  The dumb thing about the game though is that you can’t start from your last played level.  Each time you have to start over.  Meh!

Enjoy the week ahead ladies and gentlemen.  Before I leave I want to give a quick shout to Irishprik and Fatal Turntable for the awesome Kingdom Under Fire co-op play this past weekend!

Unscripted 360 was live today to make history with the Catch 22 Edition announced a few days ago.  Twenty-two (22) gamers very happy after the show today and you can listen in now to hear it.  Big thanks to everyone who tuned in to the show and joined in on the chat.  If you see your name here, send me a message via Xbox Live with your choice of Metal Slug 3 or SpongeBob SquarePants Underpants Slam.

First to choose, first to get served.  If any winner fails to respond before the weekend is up, then they forfeit the goodies.  One of the main things was to have been at the show but me being the happy flower that I am, I’m allowing those who didn’t make it to the show a little time to respond.

Remember the note to Xbox Live subscribers about a free Live Arcade title?  Major Nelson spreads the word today that Undertow will be available for free next week from Wednesday, January 23rd until Sunday, January 27th.  That’s an 800 Microsoft Points value being made for free.  (to those of you who don’t have it that is)  I’ve played it and it’s a pretty cool game and in fact one of the best in the Xbox Live Arcade in my opinion.  It looks great.

What say you of this peace offering?  Those of you who have the game already are encouraged to call Xbox Support next week.

[Update] - I called Xbox Support and was told that those of us who have the game already would be credited 800 Microsoft Points.  Some have already received the credit while others, like myself, were told to wait until next Wednesday to receive the points.

What’s life in gaming without fancy numbers and fuel for little fanboys to brag about their respective console of choice?  Call of Duty 4 continues its domination on the sales charts and the Nintendo Wii continues its lead in hardware sales.  And the PlayStation 3 continues its drought in games that matter.  Perhaps it is indeed just a Blu-ray player right now.

December 2007 Hardware Sales

Nintendo Wii - 1,350,000
Xbox 360 - 1,260,000
PlayStation 3 - 798,000

December 2007 Software Sales

1. Call of Duty 4 (Xbox 360) - 1.47 million
2. Super Mario Galaxy - 1.40 million
3. Guitar Hero III (PS2) - 1.25 million
4. Wii Play - 1.08 million
5. Assassin’s Creed (Xbox 360) - 894,000
6. Halo 3 - 743,000

10. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games - 613,000

Here’s a cool video I got last night.  It’s a behind-the-scenes look at the development process of the upcoming game, Turok.  It takes you through the early stages of the game to the more recent footage we’ve been seeing.  This kind of inside look into games is always interesting.

The time is almost near for us all to practice our dinosaur killing skills.  Take a look at how the characters, environment and mayhem all came to be.

Ever wonder how much time you’ve put into Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4?  Imagine being able to see the numbers of hours you’ve managed to devote to Kingdom Under Fire.  It might be useful for those of you still in school to see that you’ve wasted valuable study time playing Viva Pinata.  Well, there is such a thing that watches what you play.

The Live Eye has been around for a little while and I wanted to revisit it.  I decided to run a story about it for those of you who are unaware of this cool little tool developed by two of my good friends, ZaaM IT and Squidpunch.

I created a topic on the message boards the other day about which games are in the top 5 of people’s most favorite on the Xbox 360.  Someone asked if they could see how long they’ve played a game and it reminded me of how cool the Live Eye really is.  I had no idea that I’ve played Madden NFL 08 so much that the time spent on it totals more than a day.  I’ve played it for 1 Day, 16 Hours and 43 Minutes.  Crackdown is my second most played title even after spending so much time on newer ones.  I did a show one year ago with Squidpunch about it.  You can listen in to Episode #26 for more on it.

You have to be signed up for the Live Eye to track your game time before it can begin to “watch you”.  It starts when you sign up.  You can sign up at www.theliveeye.com.  Next time you want to prove to your parents that you really aren’t wasting that much time on games, you’ll have solid proof to show them.  (that could be both good and bad so be careful)

This Saturday U360 Live brings more of that famous TriXie Dust from Xbox.com!  Everytime the show is sprinkled with that magic dust there’s a treat at the end and this time is no different.  During the show I’ll be giving away 22 redeem codes for the Xbox Live Arcade titles Metal Slug 3 and SpongeBob SquarePants Underpants Slam!  No that wasn’t a typing mistake.  11 codes for SpongeBob plus 11 codes for Metal Slug 3 equals 22.

As always, make sure you send a HUGE thanks to TriXie at Xbox.com for her awesome dust skillz.  Make sure she feels the love from U360 and all the Blades here!

Leave your comment here and let me know if you’re up for some sluggin’ or spongin’.  And be there Saturday, January 19th to hear your named called for the win!  Twenty-two (22) selections will be the largest single gathering of happy winners in U360 history!
