Rez HD finally makes its way to the Xbox Live Arcade.  I’m not familiar with Rez but I do know that unfortunately we won’t be getting the PS2 version compatible with the Trance Vibrator.  I have an increasing interest in Panda that I can’t explain now.  For those unfamiliar with Rez, maybe the video will help.

Rez HD Info

“Rez HD” is a frenetic, wire-frame adventure set to industrial beats and rhythms that match the action. The story of “Rez HD” takes players deep into the world’s computer network where they must hack the system, alter the visual output and take over the music, creating unique rhythms and eye candy as they dig deeper into the cyberworld.

Happy Monday yet again everyone and welcome to Unscripted 360’s usual Monday Morning Scripted.  The Monday Morning Scripted is ofcourse when I recap the previous weekend’s festivities and go over what’s hot during the week.  It covers just about everything I can think of that was relevant in the world of U360.  We had a ton of new faces and visitors over the weekend so I wanted to explain what the MMS was.

I didn’t see any movies over the weekend.  I wanted to check out Meet The Spartans but it was my daughter’s weekend so I was shopping the entire weekend.  To say I was overloaded with Hannah Montana would be a severe understatement.  I had a lot of fun though and so did my daughter having a weekend in which she got anything she wanted from Daddy.

The live show on Saturday was fantastic!  You guys and girls are really an incredible community and one that I’m happy to be a part of.  The show went so well that it generated quite an opportunity for U360.  I figured that instead of being in constant disbelief over the things that happen with the show, I’m going to enjoy the ride and enjoy it full speed!

Mass Effect

Did you hear that all-knowing Cooper Lawrence issued an apology to gamers around the world in a NY Times article after actually spending some time with Mass Effect.  Who would’ve thought you had to experience something before offering an opinion on it?  We had quite a few laughs on the show about it all.  Check out Episode #59 as it ended up beind the most shocking episode in U360 history!

Big shout to all the new callers and new faces to the show/site.  This is the last week of January…can you believe it?  Time waits for no one apparently.  Enjoy the week ladies and gents.

You thought you had heard everything there was to hear about the Mass Effect sex scandal until you tuned in to U360 Live yesterday.  It was the most shocking show in the history of Unscripted 360!  Your senses will be pushed to their limits.  Your very understanding of alien relationships will be changed forever.

All of this plus the shocking truth that the Konsole Kingz have gone soft?  Has the Nintendo Wii managed to smooth the rough edges of the psycho CEO himself?  Tune in now.

(quick note)  I am going to start archiving past episodes over a year old to clear up room on the server.  They will be available past a year but by request.

Yes, we all like to pretend this isn’t a fanboy world that stirs all kinds of rumors about the “other consoles” to speculate about but we know that’s not true.  That’s what ‘In Other News’ is all about.  There is a world outside of the Xbox 360 and I feel obligated to keep you up to speed on the more interesting things that occur on the dark side of that world.  The power of ‘In Other News’ compels you!

PlayStation 3

Word on the PS3 Fanboy street is that Best Buy has decided to discontinue the 80GB model of the PlayStation 3 and only carry the less-than-stellar 40GB model beginning Monday, January 28.  Best Buy is a rather large chain and this begs the question of whether or not other retail outlets will follow suit.  If you’ll remember, the 40GB model of the PS3 lacks backwards compatibility, has only 2 USB ports and lacks memory card readers.

Are there plans to introduce a price cut for the 80GB or even a more robust PlayStation 3?  Who knows but if you were to believe additional rumors of a white PS3 coming to stores soon, then anything is possible.  Yes, I said a white & black version of the PlayStation 3 is the latest news; both rumored to cost $299.

What say the world on this?  What say you on this?

Everyone likes to be involved with their favorite games right?  What I mean is that we all have imagined having our input somehow result in being “in the game”.  EA Sports is giving you that chance with NCAA March Madness 08.  With their latest effort on the March Madness website, EA is giving fans a chance to choose which arena gets included in the game.

NCAA March Madness 08

This new arena will be created from scratch for release in an update for NCAA March Madness 08 similar to last year’s “bracket pack.”  EA is sending their producers to multiple arenas across the country and getting reports on their experience on the campus.  After reading and seeing the videos that are released on the site, the community is encouraged to vote on the arena they’d most like to see added for the update.

The campus tour has begun and you get to decide on what will be the new arena in NCAA March Madness 08.  Just head over to the official site for March Madness and click the team/arena report you want to see.  Then layeth your vote down.  Big shout to Marcus at EA for the info.

Touchstone and Propaganda Games continue the countdown to Turok’s release with another video detailing the making of the game.

“Awakening The Giants: The Making of Turok” includes never-before-seen footage of gameplay and developer interviews with Propaganda Games.  The documentary series is directed and narrated by video game industry veteran journalist Victor Lucas of Greedy Productions, the series’ production company.

February 5th is fast approaching so get your dinosaur fill while you wait.

Who let the idiots out to play news reporters?  I have such an enormous lack of respect for most news these days and this just adds to that lack of respect.  People always tend to look for something to blame for their shortcomings as parents or journalists instead of pointing the finger at themselves with a big “FAILED” on the end of it.

Mass Effect

I wanted to hear the opinions of everyone on the recent Fox News report about “full digital nudity” in Mass Effect and how it’s being marketed to kids.  They aired a so-called discussion about the game that included journalists and resident gaming stud, Geoff Keighley.  The news report cited several ridiculous claims that it appears new publisher, Electronic Arts, has taken offense to and rightfully so.  IGN has the story and response from EA for you to read.  EA has asked for several corrections to what Fox News aired.

My opinion on this is that it’s amazing how the likes of Fox News can get away with sensationalized media and endorsing people who obviously know little to nothing about Mass Effect or games in general.  Many of the journalists were still posing questions about Pac-Man.  Wake up!  The days of Pac-Man have long since gone and technology has long since improved.

Geoff did a good job pointing out that the reporters haven’t even played the game thus making any opinion of it moot.  I’ve played it and I didn’t encounter any full digital nudity or feel like I was trapped in cyber porn.  (maybe I need to request a refund because that would’ve been nice)

The next chapter in the Alone in the Dark series looks to take its disturbing atmosphere to new heights.  Atari and Eden Games delivered some gameplay footage from December that looks very interesting.

Don’t take my word for it.  Watch it for yourself.  If the gameplay can match the atmosphere, then we might have a terror-filled ride on our hands.  And I mean that in a good way.

I’m a big Smallville fan so you can imagine how much more excited in Dark Sector I was when D3Publisher announced that Michael Rosenbaum, aka Lex Luthor, would be the voice of Hayden.  They sent along a cool video of Lex in the studio that I have for you guys and girls to check out.
