Call of Duty 4 continues its domination on the sales charts and the Nintendo Wii continues its lead in hardware sales. And the PlayStation 3 continues its drought in games that matter. Perhaps it is indeed just a Blu-ray player right now.

it’s still amazing that cod4 sold almost 1 and a half million copies on the 360 alone in december…great to see the 360 still striving!

Anyway, what I don’t understand is why can’t Sony put as much effort into the PS3 as they do the PS2. The PS2 is still moving units. So sad.

Sony’s focus right now is primarily Blu-ray and gaming is a distant second if not 3rd priority with them.

Gameskill: the way I see it, as I have been telling the PS3 crowd in my area, Sony will not be serious on the PS3 unless they make the decision to stop the PS2 completely. If they keep on, they are just selling the cheapest Blue Ray unit in the market, and not a true console (wonder if that direction is also being taken for the PSP, now that they want to include Skype on it…)

I read something earlier that PSP owners are going to be able to download Blue Ray movies to the PSP. To me, that would take up a lot of memory.

Just a Blu-ray? Completely correct. It’s very amusing to see their newest set of commercials. They ONLY focus on showing clips from some of the hottest movies recently released on DVD/Blu-ray, then in the end, show the PS3 as the player.
It is a great commercial though and really gets me excited about purchasing a Blu-ray player.
