Tired of the usual merry Christmas cards?  There may be someone you’d rather scare this holiday season so Techland decided to help in that cause with Dead Island themed holiday cards.  Send your own Dead Island holiday e-postcard here.  Why do the usual for friends this year?  The site has a very cool take on Jingle Bells to listen to while you send your zombie cards.

Dead Island Holiday

I’ve seen many things in the gaming world that I thought would be interesting to play on a console but this one takes the cake.  I can’t wait to do sports with Orcs and Elves!  It’s the video game adaptation of Games Workshops’ strategy sports game filled with all kinds of fantasy creatures.

U360 Report Card

Projects - B

You can make a case that the only game anyone will remember from Ubisoft this year is Assassin’s Creed.  In fact, I’ll make that case right now.  Anyone up for some Beowulf?  CSI?  America’s Army?  Naruto: Rise of a Ninja was a decent offering but I’d wager that the ramen noodles campaign surrounding it was more interesting.  There was a point long ago when Ubisoft could simply rest on the shoulders of its many Tom Clancy titles but that time is no more.  Is anyone still playing Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2?  Gamers are expecting and deserve more than the many Tom Clancy’s Rainbow-Ghost-Splinter moments.

I enjoy those games but they’re all too similar to offer any higher grade here in Projects.  Assassin’s Creed has been a truly mixed breed as far as media response goes and even community response.  For a title that consumed so much of Ubisoft’s marketing dollars you’d expect a worldwide consensus that it was a contender for Untouchable of the Year but that hasn’t been the case.  It still might once I play it and it just might deserve it judging from the huge # of sales it has pulled off.  Never judge a book by its cover or by its sales though.  But even the strong showing of Assassin’s Creed in sales isn’t enough to compensate for the likes of Beowulf, Naruto and the less-than-blazing Blazing Angels we had this year.

You have to get your votes in before the year ends!  All winners will be announced next month.  You can check out the official page for the Xbox Community Choice Awards to read all the information or head right to the polls here and cast your votes.  I told TriXie that everyone from U360 would hop over and vote so don’t let me down!

It’s almost dinosaur mauling time and to get you even more prepared for the return of Turok, check out the Xbox 360 box art for the game.  Touchstone and Propaganda Games are bringing a next generation twist to the series and from what I’ve seen, it looks like my kind of action.

Turok

And you thought the Command & Conquer series would always be a real-time strategy (RTS) game didn’t you?  That’s about to change in Fall 2008.  Over 2 1/2 years in development, Electronic Arts Inc. today revealed Tiberium™, a new intellectual property that brings a rich, original fiction to life through intense tactical action and visceral first-person shooting.  That’s right, it’s a first-person shooter and you can see the first high-res image of its announcement below.

Tiberium

“Tiberium is our ‘One Ring’, our ‘Force’. It is the connective tissue that defines this universe and tears it apart,” said Chris Plummer, Executive Producer at EA Los Angeles. “After two years of pre-production, it is exciting to finally reveal this game and its rich fiction to the world. We’ve put a lot of effort into evolving the tactical shooter experience by taking core gameplay compulsions like commanding, choice and dominating your enemies and delivering them in first-person. Some of the weapons and mechanics are truly innovative for a first-person game. We’re very proud to be part of a project that has the potential to really make a mark on the cannon of sci-fi fantasy fiction.”

kiki kat

Give the world a glimpse of the life that is Kiki.

I am from the beautiful sunny state of Arizona where I work as a software analyst and go to school full time toward a doctorate in psychology. I also work on an online community gaming magazine called The Blue Skittle, moderate on the Xbox.com forums and am a member of the Xbox GamerchiX. I have been involved with Xbox Live since the beginning after my son and I were chosen to beta test Live.

Give us the dirt on how you chose your Gamertag.

I really don’t have an exciting story behind my Gamertag. My sister gave me the nickname Kiki a long time ago and I like cats. Put them together and you get kiki kat.

Happy Monday and welcome to the Jessica Simpson sucks edition of Monday Morning Scripted.  I have come to the realization that dumb blondes and football don’t mix.  I hope that Tony Romo manages to learn this as well.  I expect Jerry Jones to ban her from all remaining games for the remainder of Tony’s contract with the Dallas Cowboys.  Good thing that no one stepped up for a gamer pic war or else I’d have to sport a stupid Eagles gamer pic.

Jessica Simpson Sucks!

Ok, now let’s talk about the positives going into this week.  I checked out I Am Legend this weekend and it was pretty good.  Those night creature things were seriously crazy.  I’d hate to get whatever virus that was because insanity does them no justice.  They were 100 times insanity.  It could’ve used more action but overall it was a good movie.

The Halo 3 million dollar tournament starts tomorrow here in Dallas.  I’ll try to grab some photos and videos throughout the week of all the players and geeks.  It should be fun and intense with that amount of money on the line.

Congratulations to Pimp Method, Gripman, NuAngel, David Bond, Fujiwarano, JuggalordsZero, and GamjawanG for being the Mighty Seven and winning Arkadian Warriors.  I appreciate you guys hanging out and supporting U360.  We’ll have to co-op Arkadian Warriors sometime.

Well enjoy the week ladies and gents.  Stay tuned this week for new Medals, new Showcases, new Report Cards and more!

It was an interesting live show yesterday.  It ended and then began and then ended again.  I guess you had to be there to understand.  Congratulations to the winners of the Mighty Seven Arkadian Warriors giveaway.  Enjoy the show!
