Halo 3 has some new goodies available for download today. You know you’re still playing it so now is the time to decide if it’s good enough to dish out more $ on. The map pack has 3 new maps. (Standoff, Rat’s Nest and Foundry)

why couldn’t they just hand them out for free on this first one…i mean the game did rack in hundreds of millions.

They looked pretty cool from what I saw in the Red vs Blue video, but I don’t like playing custom matches, so I’ll wait until the map pack is free in a few months.

I agree. $10 for 3 maps is just too much. I play a fair amount of Halo 3, but I’m waiting until they are free. I’d have probably bought them for $5, but not for $10. I’m cheap…I admit it.

Here’s my question… since I haven’t downloaded any maps at all, be gentle with your answers.
Can’t someone with the map pack just load up forge, move one thing, then save it and upload it to their share? Or does forge work similar to the ‘clips’ - you sort of already have the “shell” of the level, all forge really does is show ‘object placement’ on that level?

I’ll wait until they are free. $10 for 3 maps is a little pricy. Besides, I have too many other games that I want to finish up during the holidays and early next year.

Damn you Mother Nature! The Oklahoma City area has about 500,000 houses without power. Mine’s been out since 10pm on Sunday. Not sure when I’ll be able to dive in to these maps. Our local Electric Co says it could be 7-10 days before everyone has power.

I had them a couple minutes after 4am when they came up, and since the new playlist for them didn’t go up right away (it should be up already though), I ran around each one for about 10 minutes, and Standoff and Rat’s Nest look to be amazing. Rat’s Nest could possibly be one of my favorite maps ever, it’s a completely different style, it reminds me of one of the most popular CS maps, Inferno I think it was.

I don’t mind the price as much as knowing that it will be free in a few months. For me I’d rather wait. I know its only $10, but I can play what I have and save my $10 for something else. Spring is not that far away.
