New Weapon & Character Devil May Cry 4

Capcom released some new screenshots for the upcoming Devil May Cry 4 and I must say they’re dead sexy.  The screenshots showcase a new weapon and a new enemy.  Dante’s new weapon, dubbed “Lucifer,” fires a number of mystical swords that pierce enemies and explode when Dante throws a red rose (which you can see clenched between his teeth in several shots).  There’s also images of newcomer Nero battling against a mysterious new enemy dubbed “One Winged Dark Knight.”

My level of want is steadily increasing with each bit of information Capcom puts out about this game.  Additionally, you guys and girls will have the pleasure of a Devil May Cry 4 demo early next year!  The demo consists of a sampling of sections from the full game, chosen to showcase Devil May Cry 4’s varied locales and allows gamers to familiarize themselves with Nero’s unique abilities. Players will receive instruction on the various new actions that the Devil Bringer bestows, such as the ability to slam creatures to the ground, cover great distances in a single bound or even grab enemies while on the ground or in the air and pull them towards Nero to continue the attack combo. The Exceed system allows Nero to “rev up” his sword as if it were a motorcycle throttle and unleash devastating attacks. Players will need to master all these techniques before the end of demo showdown with the mighty Berial.

They make it sound so good don’t they?  Judging from the screenshots though, no words are necessary.  This game looks to kick some serious hind parts!

I really hope this proves to be better than I think it will be, as a long time fan of the series I was greatly disappointed by the 3rd one, the first and second still holding strong the story faded in the third to make way for pretty flashies. Which, don’t get me wrong, I really love. But a story that draws you in a much as the first game is what I’m most looking forward to.

The first one was pretty cool but I liked the second one the best, I think it had the two CDs right?

Maybe it’s because I never got big into the Playstation or PS2 (where DMC originated) like some of my friends did, but I’m just not that excited for this game.

I’ve been a fan of the DMC storyline / world, but never really got into the gameplay. This sounds really fun, and with a demo next year - ahh I can’t wait for it!

I’m surprised that there are people who like DMC 2. It sucked big time compared to 1 and 3. It was way too easy and the gameplay was weak. It was a disappointment to hardcore DMC fans everywhere. The only reason I kept it after I beat it, was because I wanted my collection to be complete. Even Capcom doesn’t like talking about it. DMC 1 and 3 on the other hand freaking rocks.

DMC 4 is going to be freaking awesome. I can’t wait to play it.
