Changing Live ID Feature Fix

A few days ago I mentioned a possible issue related to the forum accounts on Xbox.com and changing your Windows Live ID after the dashboard update.  After some maintenance on the official forums yesterday, that issue has been resolved.  It was not a retroactive fix so if you changed your Windows Live ID prior to the fix yesterday, your forum account will still be affected. (loss of posts, CUL & icons)

However, feel free to now enjoy all the new features including the ability to change the Windows Live ID associated with your gamertag.  Have fun and stay classy!

    seems like the live team was on the ball this time around…good thing they noticed the problem before the update went live…all in all great communication, this could have been alot worse..lol..

    Maybe i’ll change mine, and get an “american” live account.
    so that the zune software will finally work…

    But if you change it wont you be disqualified from earning those 500 free points if you registered for them. Since its based on your LIVE ID and not your gamertag?

    That’s a bummer though for the people that changed it already if they were affiliated with he forums. Oh well though.

    I really only saw one or two threads about users losing their cul and/or icons, so the early warning seemed to work wonders…

    at least they can come here now though and be a medal whore like me..lol.. ;)

    Not looking to change my tag / liveID any time soon – but I’m glad this thing was fixed. I know a couple of my friends have been waiting, wanting to shut down their old hotmail accounts or whatever.
