More Fall Dashboard Update Features
I touched on a few of the things we knew about next week’s Fall Dashboard Update yesterday and here are a few more features to get you ready for it. Microsoft unveiled some more secrets today for the free system update next week. Set your clocks to 2:00 AM PST December 4th to be amongst the first to update your console.
Inside Xbox – A new direct feed brings current news straight from Xbox.com into the Xbox LIVE Dashboard providing members an easy, predictable entry point where they can discover what’s new in: game releases, events, and Xbox LIVE Marketplace offers. (not available in Canada)
New video features – The convenience of full-screen movie previews and enhanced video codec support further expand the options when it comes to the Xbox 360 entertainment experience.
Easy-to-use navigation features – With several noteworthy changes in the Xbox LIVE Dashboard, from the new Game Store button to the Video Store button to enhanced visuals and descriptions in the video library, Xbox LIVE members can find what they want, when they want it.
Xbox Live Arcade Hits – The Arcade Hits program kicks off with some of the best selling Xbox Live Arcade games being made available at permanently reduced prices.
Child Account Graduation – Those of you stuck in a child account status even after having turned 18+ will now be able to promote your account to an adult account thus making it possible to enjoy all the features of your Xbox 360.
Change Windows Live ID – You’ll now be able to change the Windows Live ID associated with your Xbox Live account.

Hi TriXie!
Looking forward to Divx support – finally! Can we stream from MP3 device or is it PC only.

I just hope there is something special in the update focusing around the ZUNE like wireless playback trough the 360

I can see trouble with the parental timer for people with more than one child. Imagine if little Johhny ‘steals’ all the time on the 360, so Beth is timed out…

What about the “clan management” update thing..?
I’ve seen screens, but no announcements as far as that goes.

OMFG!!! CHILD ACCOUNT GRADUATION!!!!!!!
there should still be some kind of group chat added soon\. and dont even tell me that they dont have the server space because the 360 could be used as the server.
overall this update is awesome.

i agree so far the update has been really good especially with the reorganization.
December 4th, 2007 at 10:08 am
@Gavin, it wasn’t a part of this update.

OMG! The guide is so fast, they really did a good job on optimization.

Does anyone have a Fall 2007 Update folder that I can burn to disc?
December 5th, 2007 at 10:57 am
Trust me, you’ll want to just burn it, Daniel. It’s not the most efficient update. Live has been operating slow for a lot of people.

Went fine for me, for the most part. It hung right at boot, guess trouble with login to Live in general. Hard Restart and screen to update came and I was rockin & rollin after that.

While reviewing the hundreds of enhancements made in the Fall Update I came accross two that seem a bit odd. Could they be responsible for disabling the drive slowdown trick used to make the 360 tollerable when playing a game?

At close to the end of the very long list in the System section:
Improved handling when ejecting game disc during game start
This next one pretty much confirms it!!!
Improved robustness when ejecting game disc when prompted for game title update
Those sure do sound like the pieces that killed our little slow down trick.
Any thoughts?
Any way to get these removed?
