ESPN, Xbox & the Video Marketplace
ESPN is coming to an Xbox 360 near you…those of you with access to the Video Marketplace that is. Microsoft and ESPN said people can purchase complete NCAA basketball and football games, the X Games sports competitions and other programs from the Xbox Live.

Xbox 360 users can buy commercial-free standard-definition versions of select NCAA games for $3, and high-definition versions for $4.50, within 48 hours of the game’s conclusion. ESPN TV shows, like the other TV content on Xbox Live, cost $2 for standard-definition and $3 for high-def versions.
“Delivering content through Xbox 360 is another way that we can connect fans with the sports they have such passion for,” said Matt Murphy, senior vice president of digital video distribution for Disney and ESPN Media Networks.
I’m not into NCAA that much so it doesn’t get me excited. What say you?

That is really cool. Especially for people who don’t have cable, like me.

Adding NBA games would get me excited..but not NCAA games.

Why pay for these games when you can watch them live or record them with your DVR? I don’t understand this move. I love ESPN, but I believe that this bandwith could be used a lot better…

Maybe I’ll download the upcoming Egg Bowl of MSU vs Ole Miss. Our “hometown rivalry”. If bowls are available, that is.

Even with a hacked dish and the $140.00 NCAA BB package from my cable provider I still only get to see about 60% of my schools NCAA BB games. Your statement couldn’t be more wrong.
The fact that they can not bring these games live to us stinks, ESPN simply doesnt own the rights to all NCAA sports games so I bet they dont deliver more than 50% of my teams games.
If this was live and a promise to deliver every game I would of signed up yesterday.
