GameFly Top 10 - 360 Cross-Platform King

GameFly

Here’s another GameFly Top 10 after a long break since the last here on U360.  Thanks for the reminder J Rob 360.  (you guys are great)  I brought this to U360 several months ago and it always makes for a good read.  There are millions of people subscribed to GameFly so they’re right in the thick of our little Xbox community.

God the Xbox 360 is amazing. Absolute domination of the competition.

Sure, the Wii does push more units each month(excluding september) but 360 is definitely dominating when it comes to A+ titles. Today alone I heard 3 people talking about getting 360’s this holiday.

So far no one I know has bought a PS3.

Wii sold in one year what took 360 took two years to accomplish. That’s real domination.

360 owners are much more likely to have a GF account than a Wii user. Several reasons for this including older average age and higher disposable income.

I think Wii is doing very well but there is no arguing that the 360 sells more software by far than the other two systems by a very large margin. The games are just better and the selection is better right now on the 360 and the lists above prove that out as well as the sales.

I think MS hit the nail on the head when they said that console numbers alone do not tell the story. You have to look at consoles, peripherals and software to get the complete story on how these 3 consoles are performing.

DOMINATION baby, I love it. The XBOX 360 is spanking the competition on every level. I am almost begining to feel sorry for Sony and PS3 owners, NOT.

The Wii is nothing more than a gimmick, at least they will go down in history as having the worst attachment rate per console in history. Wont be long before 3rd party support dwindles away like its last console the GC.

The only two PS3 owners I know left are both jumping ship for the XBOX this holiday.

Every level huh SuM? Care to explain how Wii passed 360 up in such short order then? That alone disproves your point. PS3 has 5 million owners. Thats less than 1 million off of where 360 was at the same point. Care to try to explain that also?

Aero…if as you say MS believes software to be such a key part then why are they cutting all their game studios free?

    Aero Hudson Says:

The only game studio I can think of that they “let go” was Bungie. Even then they still have exclusive publishing rights on anything they produce. My understanding is that the other devs were not owned by MS (i.e. Bizarre, Bioware and Fasa).

Just look at the software sales for the 360 and its attach rate. The 360 attach rate is blowing away the competition right now. There is no arguing that.

I will get the most from buying at the most 2 games (Guitar Hero 3/Halo 3) for this season. I speculate that by the time spring comes around, I’ll be inclined to check out the titles coming in November like Assassin’s Creed or Mass Effect. Since those are essentially single player experiences, I know that I want to experience each one exlusively not in hour long sessions. I want to stop my urge to buy every game early on because honestly it’s a hassle.
