So Halo 3 Does Move Consoles Afterall
As you’ve all no doubt read around the interweb, NPD Group numbers for September have the Xbox 360 pushing the most hardware with a little over 527,000 consoles sold. I suppose having a game that sells over 3 million units helps.Â
“Halo 3 had a very big and significant impact on 360 hardware sales. Consumers always tell us that the availability of the games they want to play is the #1 reason why they purchase any given hardware system, and when you have a game of this magnitude, the effect of compelling content on driving hardware acquisition is evident,” says NPD industry analyst, Anita Frazier.
Ok, so I was wrong about the Halo effect. Halo 3 did appear to have helped just a tiny bit in hardware sales. I think it’s safe to assume that at some point Halo 4 will be made.

Yup…when you more than double your hardware sales I would say that the game had an impact. I have a feeling we will see this trend until the end of the year. The Orange Box, Mass Effect, COD 4, GH 3 and others will have a similar impact with the 360 being the cheapest console on the market with the most games.
It will be a huge year for the 360 IMHO.

It also helps to have a very effective online setup to play your games. XBL & Games was my reasons to select the 360.

Everyone I know that was playing Halo 2 all day, went and got a 360 on the release day of Halo 3. They have no other games only Halo 3 and 3 of them got a 32in or bigger HD T.V to go with it. I want a Flat Panel HD T.V
