Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Party On!
The battle for music title supremacy is upon us. It’s time to become a legend. It’s time to rock! I had a little get together last night with the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock demo. I’m here to tell you that the new tracks and the new Les Paul are near perfection. Everything you loved about Guitar Hero II has been amplified with more bite and a kick ass new guitar to handle it all!
The demo came with 5 songs including one of my all-time favorites, Tenacious D’s “The Metal”. I was rocking to it over and over screaming ‘Punk Rock tried to kill the metal’. Other songs on the demo were “Rock Me Like A Hurricane”, “Even Flow”, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” and “Lay Down”. You can check the track list for Guitar Hero III if you don’t know the artist of these songs.
I think we all knew about the great songs but allow me to blow your mind with the brain damage that I caused shredding with the new Les Paul. It’s black, shiny and sexy! Each of my friends and my brother said it was much better than the one used for GH2. The response, the weight…perfect. We were playing with a wired Les Paul but those of you who buy Guitar Hero III in a couple of weeks will get the wireless one.
We had the surround sound turned up full blast to get as many complaints from neighbors as we could. It was a rock party so we had to play the part. We played the battle mode and each time the Les Paul user wrecked havoc on the GH2 axe user. What does this mean? Probably nothing but I figured I’d mention it. There’s nothing like a Guitar Hero party especially a Guitar Hero III party previewing what I believe will be a great game.

I can’t wait for this game, can’t get here quick enough…on a side note, Toy’s R Us is having the buy 2 get one free deal on games till the 20th, (Cleric had mentioned it on his site but didn’t know if it was confirmed) it also works online for certain games and some of the games that are eligible = sold out online or not available online. Just FYI, me I am buying 3 copies of something and then returning those fools for games I am looking forward too in November. o_O

Calbe can you tell us more about your Toys R US deal. I can buy 3 games now and get credit for all three but wont they see that one is free? Please explain since I am low on cash money and now with Rock Band costing so much I am going to try this GH III.
I also have the GH II guitar and agree its too light. Tenacious D’s “The Metal” huh, I guess we have adifferent taste in music b/c that song is one of the corniest ever.

The online deal is where you run into problems, if you have a Toy’s R Us near you, go there and you won’t have to worry about some of the titles not being available with the deal (some titles aren’t available with the buy 2 get 1 free deal online)
If you did go online all you do is check for the titles that are included in the sale (they are marked below each boxart/item description) Pick two you like and get another of equal or lesser value free. What me and Cleric had talked about is:
Picking up 3 titles ($59.99 titles that is) leaving them wrapped and taking them back to Wal-Mart (still sealed) and exchanging them for some of the heavier hitters this November (COD4 and Assassins Creed…ect) incase this deal doesn’t resurface or they don’t have 3 games you “want” right now.

On a side note; the day I heard “the D” was going to be on GHII, I pre-ordered. I wish they had more than just one song (wonderboy,tribute to name a few…) but I’ll take what I can get.

Social Distortion sold me on this game…I cannot wait..an awesome track list….this one will be alot of fun with friends over….
