Master Chief says “in your face” to Lee Majors, the 6 Million Dollar Man.  Halo 3 and its legendary hero took in more than 300 million dollars in its first week continuing its dominance over the world of video games.  It’s the fastest-selling video game ever.  Do you believe now?  I wonder who’s picking up the tab for pizza at Microsoft?

“Halo is truly a cultural phenomenon, and the launch of Halo 3 is an important milestone for Xbox 360 and for video games as entertainment and as an art form,” said Bill Gates, chairman of Microsoft. “Halo 3 embodies our vision for the future of entertainment, where some of the world’s greatest creative minds will deliver a new generation of interactive storytelling.”

No shit. That’s why it’s retarded to try and compare the two when it comes to overall sales. Anything to try and prove some bias point after you’re proven wrong. Let’s compare Madden and Halo sales too, Madden is only released on about 11 consoles, it’s a fair comparison I think.
It’s about as reasonable as comparing a $78 average game price at launch to a Spiderman movie ticket and declaring yourself the king of entertainment wouldn’t you say?

At least in my example a game is being compared to another game…what a novel idea.

    Now stop being rude.
Also, Halo 2 sold more copies in a day back in 2004 than GTA:SA did on PS2 in two weeks.

If the PS2 truely had 100 million consoles in homes at that time, then the GTA:SA attach rate (and all of PS2’s games attach rates) were atrocious. Luckily for Sony, a third of their PS2s sold are recycled plastic by now, so the game sales aren’t all that bad. The PS2 is just a disposable system, and at $100 or whatever it costs now, I guess it was a good business strategy.
Wern’t you just talking about bias?

I could easily point to the much more alarming rate of 360 failures in a shorter time frame but let’s face it, you don’t want to think about that.

Yup, big week for MS and more than likely Halo 3 will be the best selling exclusive of this generation probably by a large margin.

Keep in mind as well that Halo 3 is not finished. There’s no telling where it will stop considering the game is hitting at the beginning at the life cycle.

Even after talking about the sales the only thing that really matters is if it is any good and if it is fun to play. And dare I say it…they have succeeded on both counts. Very well done Bungie. Nice way to cap off the series. Bravo!

The topic starts HALO is the best there has ever been to date. Didnt take long for Sirharper to show up with his usual negative comments about everything MS. If you go into your preferences you can ignore comments from this user. I must have gotten 10 PM’s from people that did the same after my last thread.

HALO IS KICKING ASS as it should be thanks for further confirmation Deacon.
