Motto Makes Xbox Live Free? Keep Dreaming!
I’ve heard the rumors and I’ve gotten all the messages asking me about this ridiculous chain scam going around on Xbox Live. The craziness suggests that if a certain amount of people put “Make Xbox Live Free” or some variation of that in their motto, Microsoft will make Xbox Live free. I’d like to personally strip the person who started this of their Xbox 360 console for good!. Oh how the interweb rumors spread like wildfire eh?
Xbox Live will not be free no matter what you change your motto to. You may now continue to wait for Halo 3 tonight. Have a nice launch!

£5 a month is way to cheap for such a great service, i don’t know what microsoft are thinking, i would put it up to £15

Forcing users to pay for the service is certainly a revenue generator for MS, but the issues here arises in the the fact that while they claim they reached 7mil members, how many of those are live enabled? Probably not very many… I know I am the only person in my group of friends who has gold, and when applicable my friends own the PS3 version of something to play for free, so it generally goes to waste since I have noone to play with, so ultimately I doubt I’ll be renewing when the time comes.
This can turn into a real deal breaker for MS and the 360. PS3 has free internet (and it is a very nice service btw), as does Nintendo (yes it sucks, but Nintendo is also the noob on the block with net gaming), and the PC (unrivaled in the quality, and amount of 100% free net gaming). MS needs to really let the pay to play feature on Live go away. Revenue can be generated in other ways; and for god’s sake people, stop claiming the quality of live will suffer, its a freakin peer to peer connection! In this day and age of dedicated servers, Live is actually in the stoneage…

Dudes I agree Live should be 100% free… with PS3 now free and working like it should more of my friends are playing that so now I let my Live run out and play with them when ever I can…Live costing so much is rediculous I might pay 15 per year but at 5million players online with subscription 15 per year x 5mill is still 75mil and that is definintly enough to keep up the services that they have…if it were like WoW or AoC where new content was constantly being downloaded and 24/7 ***Good*** customer service is available I might pay but when the connection goes to Blue Screen and the lag continues and when I cant get on randomly because they they felt the need to loose connection for no reason I dont want to pay money.

I will not pay for a subscription again. I used to, but am now considering dropping my Xbox360 for a PS3. I have games, but if you add internet, plus subscription fees, this system gets very expensive very quick. Not to mention XBox live customer service SUCKS. I hate having to get transfered 8 times in India only to get back to the same person I started with. Annoying and these greedy MS bastards will not be getting any more of my money with Windows or XBOx. Suck it MS
