No Halo 3 Achievements Until Launch, Achievement Lockdown
Ok, so those of you who have managed to get Halo 3 early may have escaped being banned from Xbox Live but it appears that there’s another form of punishment for you. No one will be able to show their unlocked Achievements to the world until Halo 3 officially launches. That’s right. They’ve put the golden lock on your Achievements being displayed! Players have made mention of it and noticed that although they’ve unlocked Halo 3 Achievements, they don’t appear on their Gamercards. It’s not the punishment many expected, but it’s something to slap the hands of those playing it early I suppose.
Does this matter to those playing right now? I would assume it doesn’t. But for those of you who wanted to proudly display those unlocked Halo 3 Achievements, you’ll have to wait until the rest of us can display them too. Achievement Lockdown.

yeah kind of funny i guess. didn’t know they could do that but for a title like Halo 3, anything can be done.

huh, funny you should post this because some friends of mine told me that they can see their friends achievements for Halo 3, is this something that just got in effect as of now or was it something before hand… doesn’t matter though since in 2 days, from where I’m commenting, halo 3 will launch. Besides this also doesn’t count for the bungies website now viewing like 2000+ members now playing Halo 3 and that a members achievements are available to see in their profile. Cool thing though about their site now though is that you can download game variants and when you do get halo 3, once you pop it in (or when i finally get the game we’ll see if it works) you download the very thing you wanted on the site, something the guys at Epic should do for Unreal tournament *hint*

@Arbalest270 they probably show for yourself, and for friends on the console – just not on xbox.com gamercards
the counts still is available to XCDP sites, which is why you can see S1ick Nick has completed 42/49 940/1000 all ready on theliveeye.com

exactly squid. other sites and such or personally on the console are a different thing than Gamercards. they won’t appear their until launch. a small slap on the hand but hey it’s something lol

Hahaha, I laugh at whoever labelled this a punishment. If you really want to, you can see the acheivements from your console and online wasn’t working earlier this week, so it’s more of a feature not fully functioning.

it works for every game except Halo 3 eh Jokar?

Yeah, but a punishment…it’s more like a slap on the wrist which will be healed tomorrow. lol

I highly doubt those playing Halo 3 early really care about people seeing their achievements… some ‘punishment. lol’

honestly I wonder if it was intentional, or if something went wrong they had those 2 achievement lists floating around etc – seems like more work than its worth to put effort into making them hidden before release
I wont rant or anything, but I can safely say its very likely that those efforts could have been better spent if that really is the case.
my only question is – will someone get 1,000 before official release

HAHAHA… awesome, I think they should void them all together, they should have to do it all over again. All they get is a warm up an first crack at the game. So pretty much they have them and as soon as the date comes around, POP! they’ll show up, sounds like playing offline if you ask me.

Only… 26 more hours.. but who’s counting. Of course I won’t be going to the midnight party like the wuss that I am. Of course having a infant and a wife hinders things a tad. That and no sleep. But come Tuesday afternoon it’s all mine. (now if I can only play it when I get it

[...] for those who get games prior to the street date. If you remember, U360 broke the scoop on the Halo 3 Achievement lockdown detailing how they weren’t viewable until the official launch. It appears the same lockdown [...]
