Xbox.com is up to something.  There’s a countdown that ends a little more than a day from now (Wednesday for the slow pokes) and it’s described as ‘Brutally Fun’.  What could this be?  Is there more to Arcade Wednesday this time?  It’s too early for Halo 3 so I’m all out of guesses.  Be there when the countdown ends to find out what’s so brutally fun.  I know you smart fanboys and girls have ideas so let’s hear them.

Interesting, there is a Halloween motif to it, but it seems way too early for any Halloween related contests or the like.

Brutally fun could refer to the Brutes in Halo 3 maybe? Hopefully it’s something big and interesting.

This post seems to be a pretty good guess:

“I wonder if it could be Brutal: Paws of Fury. The box art to that old Genesis/SNES game looks alot like the writing in that teaser page.”

Less than 24 hours and we’ll find out lol :)

I think its the old SEGA game Altered Beast. I’m guessing this because the background setup is similar to that game. That was a tight game back in the day and I hope I’m right.

It’s a good shout in that Sega’s put it on VC, but afaik it’s not been rated for 360 yet. Would be a nice addition though aint no doubt.

It’s for Ninja Gaiden 2. They put the Screen shots up early on Xbox.com (japan) and took them down as soon as people noticed (especially when the screens were discovered by people on NEO-GAF. Plus MS TGS press conference is set to kick off around 9pm PST which is around the time the counter is ticking down to.

Here is the thread with the screens I was talking about (that are now taken down off xbox.com/japan). Definately looks like brutal fun to me. :-)
