Dark Sector

Brutal and sexy.  Although the demo did have some glaring issues with its aiming system and control, it’s no doubt that when refined Dark Sector will turn heads.  You play as Hayden Tenno and you’re infected with some Technocyte Virus which gives you some pretty interesting powers.  I was slicing bodies, cutting off limbs and it felt pretty damn good.  Dark Sector’s cover system is similar to that of Gears of War so many of you will feel comfortable with it.

The bladed glaive you use (I call it the Krull) can be powered up as you go through the game.  There was an instance when I threw the Krull into some fire and the blade harnessed the fire as I put the blaze on an enemy.  Yep, he was extra crispy afterwards.  As you can see from the new screen above, the bladed glaive has a lot in store for it.

One interesting thing was that Dark Sector uses no HUD.  You’ll have to watch the action pretty closely to make sure you’re not on the brink of death.   I hope Digital Extremes keeps on the path and finishes Dark Sector right.
