There’s a Gamercast Network picture pack free to download on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The news came during the Penny Arcade Expo in case some of you missed it. I know a few of the people included so congrats to them with this move. Choose your favorite site out of the list and show some love.

@Carbon, it really isn’t. I’d like to see every Xbox community blog/site and podcast get their “Make Me Famous Minute” on the Marketplace (You like that, DB?
). However, unfortunately, I know that it doesn’t always work that way. And, again, I don’t know all the innards of how this pack came about. But just you wait-and-see, U360’s time to “really” shine is a-comin’. Oh yes, BIG sunny-yellow and all that!

First off, whats up Deacon?
Whats up Soufizzy?
Hello all,
I am the co-host of one of those shows that happens to be on the pic pack. I can understand the anger here, but the lack of understanding the overall picture (no pun intended) really has me baffled. The whole idea is to show MS that these community pic-packs are important to the Xbox community. By downloading them, it justifies the need of adding more. It’s that simple.
Now, as someone who was approached by this, I want to explain some of what went down. We were told of two weeks before PAX about an idea for community content. They specified that we were to keep this a secret because the chances of this happening were slim. Two days before PAX we are told that the chance of our logos going on the Marketplace were a lot better. I found out that the announcement would happen Friday afternoon. I had to see one of my friends sporting the Podtacular logo to realize that they were up on the Marketplace.
I feel for Deacon because he is one of the senior members of the Xbox Live community. This put everyone involved in an odd situation. I don’t like to hide secrets, but that comes with the territory once you become an Xbox MVP. We, the community have to remember that this is still a business for MS. We cannot let these decisions divide what we have all worked hard on building: The best gaming community to ever exist.

I agree on both ends.
It took a lot of ass kissing from the lowest level in the community to the highest level in the marketing departments to get this picture pack on the marketplace.
Congrats to the Gamerscore Blog and Gamercast Network for unlocking this achievement. Lets hope this opens the flood gates for more community content and not just quarterly.
If they expect to release one picture pack per quarter, how will this ever cover all the great communities out there. There are lots of worthy lil’ guys and big sites that deserve that tiny lil image.
Either way, I downloaded the pack, im sporting the GSB pic, which I will rotated on occasion.

In an effort to support the greater community, I downloaded the Free Community Picture Pack. I hope that the collective act of doing so opens the door for more FCPPs. Deacon, get to work on Illustrator and create that U360 icon!
