Vampire Rain Revisited
I know what many of you might be thinking after the hordes of subpar reviews this title received. But I assure you that I’m not crazy and the “revisiting” of Vampire Rain is with reason. M80 and Xbox contacted me to offer information and material to help create a second look at the blood sucking adventure. I’ve played the game only sparingly so I can’t offer any review just yet so I’ll save my opinions until I’ve played more. U360 did just recently give the game out to one of the show’s listeners so this all ties in nicely together.

Isn’t this a kick ass wallpaper? For any of you who have played the game, let me know what you thought of it regardless of what your responses may be. I remember another title, Bullet Witch, that ended up warranting a second look so let’s see if Vampire Rain follows suit. I remember a few months ago that I listed Vampire Rain as one of the Summer’s titles to play before Halo 3. What could be better than vampires and stealth right?
What say you about your experiences with Vampire Rain?

I am sorry, but this game is worse then horrible. I believe that the person I was playing with said it best. “Vampire Rain is like Splinter Cell, except that whenever Sam is spotted, he instantly blows up!”
Yeah, as for the game, the missions are very hard, and killing vampires is somewhat impossible.

was it like that throughout? do you really get detected that easily? i thought that would change as you progressed through it.

Hey deac, i got my vampire rain yesterday =) thanks again, popped it in today for a little while. Wasn’t very good at all from what I played lol, but that is why I won it, because it’s bad. I’ll try and play it a little more and see what it’s like.

I only have played about 4 missions so far, its just very frustrating to get detected, and then have to replay that part over, and over, and over.
I guess I could try to play another mission sometime tomorrow.

Well I paid for this game expecting stealth and all I can say is boring! I went back to splinter cell DA. Consumers were expecting Splinter Cell graphics, cool moves, breaking peoples necks. All I got for my $64 spent on Vampire Rain were some of the ugliest artwork since the N64 days and horrible camera control. The online play was fun for a while but now everyone just turns into a bloodsucking leech and just goes around killing for achivements.
Bottomline, this game is horrible! It doesn’t deserve a second look. I cannot recommend this game to anyone when there are so many much better games out there. Bulletwitch was bad but I then again I only rented the game so maybe this is why I rate Vampire Rain below Bulletwitch.
As soon as I began playing the sp part of the game I hated it. I then got a xbox live message from DAKing240. In the message he warned me about Vampire Rain, “please tell me you did not buy this POS game?” I guess DAKing240 got a review copy and he was letting me know. Thanks DAKing, but you were too late. I really think developers should take an honest look at them selves when they sell junk like this to consumers. It has my nomination for worst gameplay on xbox360 for 2007. I give the game a 2/10 and those 2 points are strictly earned for the online multiplayer sniping ability.
Online play is a little bit mor efun but it gets very repetitive and has too few online maps. The DLC is not very good either.

Deaconblade if you dont beleive us in how bad this game is I challenge you to complete up to mission 5 in single player. I did not get that far but I had already thrown my controller on the floor in frustration a few times already.
Then go online and try to kill vampires. It can be done, but it is hard as hell. After a while everyone in the lobby starts saying we’re just going for achievements b/c this game sucks! Really the game just is ugly to look at. You can get good and there is some level of skill involved but there are just so many better games out there. I would feel horrible telling someone to pay for this game like I did.
I also played through the online time the entire “play and win” contest so I hope I win something for sacrificing my 360 and forcing it to play Vampire Rain online so much……lol.

i’ll try to play through it. but hey i’m not saying i don’t believe you. the little i played wasn’t impressive at all. but i’m sure all this feedback will help M80 and Xbox.

Vampire Rain is so horrible it literally made my head hurt. I really wish I could wipe the memory of playing it from my mind. It goes right up there with Superman 64, Drake of the 99 Dragon and Aquaman. It should be buried in an unmarked grave in the desert with E.T for the Atari 2600.

lol…………Darke of Dragons was bad too. When I saw the cutscene in Vampire Rain I thought wow this looks cool. But geez the in game graphics look so Atari 2600. Even some Sega Dreamacast games look better than this game. Where was MS quality control for this game?

Hmmm…my wife just got me this one for my birthday and thankfully I haven’t opened it yet. I may be taking it back for C&C3 or something else on my list…bummer that it’s not worth playing.
