Ok so most of the working class will have a 3-day weekend begin after work is over today.  What that means is that yours truly can game well into the night on Sunday night!  I’ve been away from gaming with the peeps for a while so why not get back into the swing of it on a long weekend.

What do you guys plan on playing?  The Call of Duty 4 Beta?  Xbox Live Arcade titles?  Let me know so I can fire it up and we can game.  On Sunday night, I plan to host a long anticipated Unscripted Nights return!  The game that evening will be Shadowrun so if you have it, fire it on up!

Shadowrun

When: Sunday, September 2nd
Time: 7PM PST / 9PM CST / 10PM EST

How do I get in?
It’s easy. When you see me on Xbox Live, join me! You’ll see the join arrow on my Gamertag or profile indicating the session is available to join. Or, send a message to me via Xbox.com or Xbox Live with “Unscripted Nights” and I’ll get you in the game.

We might even cook up some Gears of War after partying.

Sierra sent word today that a TimeShift demo is available on the Xbox Live Marketplace.  Are you ready to bend time and take on the enemy?  Developed by Saber Interactive and published by Sierra Entertainment, TimeShift is a first person shooter (FPS) video game that allows players to master the flow of time, to become the ultimate weapon in war-torn environments.

I hope it’s the demo they had playing at PAX.  I enjoyed that one.

Andrew and the Gaia Industries team are giving U360 fans not one, not two but three free redeem codes to their latest Xbox Live Arcade release, Street Trace: NYC!  I had a really good time with the Gaia boys during the Penny Arcade Expo.  They’re New York rock stars and don’t even know it.

Street Trace: NYC

I’m going to get some game time on this title in the next few days so this is a good chance for 3 of you to join in.  I’ll be sure to review this as well for the crowd.  Save yourself 800 Microsoft Points and read below.

What do I do to score?

Send a message to me via Xbox Live or Xbox.com or email saying “Street Trace”.  I’ll pick the three this weekend and announce it on Episode #46.

Rock Band
Developer: Harmonix
Publisher: EA
Release date: Nov 2007

Rock Band

If lines for miles are any indication, I’d say that Rock Band was a highly sought after title during the show.  Hundreds of fans stood in line for a chance to rock out on stage with the game.  I had a few sessions of rockitude myself so I know why they stood there.

The Rock Band team put on an exclusive show for Unscripted 360 fans that even had the CEO of Harmonix rockin’ the stage.  If you missed that, you can check it out here.  I had my doubts about the “band” element in Rock Band but after trying it, it was clear that those doubts were pointless.

This game turns everyone into a rockstar!  Click the next number to find out which other title made it into U360’s Best of PAX.

Master Chief loves gold!  Microsoft announced today that Halo 3 has been released to manufacturing.  That’s right.  It’s officially finished and on its way to store shelves around the world.  Thanks for the tip GreenLantern4.   You are now on the clock Bungie to give me the story that I’ve been waiting for!

“This is a huge milestone for us and a big cause for celebration at Bungie and Microsoft Game Studios,” said Harold Ryan, Studio Head at Bungie Studios. “This is the game we’ve always wanted to make and certainly the best game our studio has developed. We can’t wait for gamers to get their hands on it on September 25.”

Are you ready to finish the fight?

There’s a Gamercast Network picture pack free to download on the Xbox Live Marketplace.  The news came during the Penny Arcade Expo in case some of you missed it.  I know a few of the people included so congrats to them with this move.  Choose your favorite site out of the list and show some love.

There’s nothing like having a ”one of a kind moment” in life.  During PAX at the Rock Band booth, I had that moment.  The guys from Harmonix featuring the CEO himself, Alex Rigopulos, and Phil from the band Shaimus got on stage to rock out with Rock Band!  It was an exclusive treat for Unscripted 360 and one that simply brought the house down.

Having the CEO take the stage and jam for the fans isn’t something you see everyday.  And he didn’t hesitate at all.  You’d think that a CEO would be all business and no play but Alex was damn good.  He got his drummin’ on.  Sean B., the Harmonix Community Manager, was a true rocker with his tattoo and cut-off shirt!  Mixing it up with the community is what U360 is about and it was refreshing to see them take the challenge and kick ass with it.

I know you’re ready for this Rock Band jam session.  I want to thank the Harmonix crew and Tracie for throwing in this special band for Unscripted 360 and the fans in attendance.  I left the Rock Band booth extremely impressed and ready for the release.  Check out the video below!

Ok, who decided to create the longest game name ever?!  I hope for everyone’s sake it isn’t the longest Xbox Live Arcade download ever.  Tomorrow we will all find out as the game with the long title makes its way to the Xbox Live Arcade.  I played a bit of it and well it’s not my type of game.

Xbox Live Arcade

Eidos was at PAX sharing some up close and personal time with their title Kane & Lynch: Dead Men.  It’s being developed by IO Interactive.  The game follows the path of two men; a flawed mercenary and a medicated psychopath.  If you’re a fan of the movie Heat, then you’ll love this title.  In speaking with David Bamberger, Marketing Manager at Eidos, Heat was definitely an instrument of inspiration for the game.  When I played I almost immediately felt like I was Val Kilmer walking down the streets after a bank robbery.

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men

One cool thing I found out was that Kane & Lynch will be coming to a theater near you at some point.  The movie rights to the game and its title have been sold and a movie is being developed.  We had a conversation about who would be the best actors for the roles of Kane and Lynch.  Who do you think would be best for the roles?

Ready to see some action?  Check out the video below. And for more videos, check out the U360 TV Channel.

I’m finally home in Dallas and because I’m so happy about being here, I wanted to share something that gave me a good laugh while at the Penny Arcade Expo.  This is some gameplay I captured of Sega’s Bleach: Shattered Blade for the Nintendo Wii.  I sat there both amazed and afraid of what I saw.  Someone please tell me that we don’t really want the developers and publishers in the gaming industry to adopt a “port from the Wii” attitude.

Enjoy the video below and also the last few photos from PAX.  Stay tuned for more from my PAX escapade.
