E3 2007 – Are You Ready?
Is it me or has there really been a major decrease in hype surrounding this year’s Entertainment Electronic Expo (E3) when compared to previous years? I had this dicussion on Saturday’s live show and it just seems like the excitement has definitely died down. I won’t go on about booth babes again. I did enough of that on the show.
No matter what your opinion is, the show must continue and E3 lives on. I’m sure none of this is going to stop our inner geek from paying close attention to what the “Big 3″ in Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo deliver as well as what third party publishers will bring. So what should you look for and what should we all be geeked about during this year’s E3? I’ll be posting some of the things going on @ E3. I wasn’t able to attend so I can’t give you all the goodies but I’ll give you some.
Well here is a quick list of a few things I’m anticipating. What’s on your quick list?

My E3 Quick List
- Halo 3 – Supposedly some campaign goodies will be shown.
- Burnout Paradise - It’s supposedly the 100% next-gen edition.
- Chatpad – Are we going to get a price and release on this thing?
- Price drop - Sony is set to drop the PS3 to $499. Will Microsoft?
- XBLA - What titles are coming. (Street Trace: NYC anyone?)
- GFW Live – Ok so what’s really going on with Games for Windows – Live?
- Demos – Beyond Ace Combat 6, what’s on tap?

I’m really looking forward to what Sony has to say and/or offer (as well as MS, but Sony MUST “get big” this time around…because last year, definitely weak). They’re [supposedly] coming out w/ some heavy-hittin’ titles (i.e., Lair, Heavenly Sword, WarHawk, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, etc.) this holiday season. And w/ the $100 price-drop on the PS3 (plus 5 FREE Blu-Ray movies w/ a purchase [for a limited time, of course]), the PS3 is really enticing me. Also, could there be an announcement of a PSP 2.0?

i’ve heard about the PSP 2.0. and the word on the streets now is that PS3 will go back the way of 2 SKUs. a $599 80 gig model (included is a copy of Motostorm) and the current 60 gig model will be $499.
why the flash back to 2 SKUs i have no idea.

I agree…just upgrade the HDDs (unless the 80GB version includes improvements to the 60GB hardware, which doesn’t). And the 80GB version seems to be worth it (BTW, I just read an article about the [new] 2 SKUs: http://www.n4g.com/industrynews/News-50340.aspx). Man, is Sony ready to compete now!?!?
