Halo 3 Achievements

I’m not sure why these things get released so early.  It’s almost a semi-spoiler in some regards when developers decide to unload the Achievements for some games especially highly anticipated, blockbuster, strip-the-mayo-from-a-sandwich type of titles like Bungie’s Halo 3.

Halo 3

Spoiler or not, the boys at Xbox360Achievements revealed the list a few days ago.  You can view the Halo 3 Achievement list here.  It looks like what I feared the most may have happened.  Was my Letter to Bungie too late and perhaps fell on deaf ears?  There are quite a few single campaign Achievements but nothing more than completing the levels on different difficulties.  Bungie.  Oh Bungie.  Thou best prepare for Deacon’s furious backlash if the single campaign is not epic.  And I’m talking Samuel Jackson in Pulp Fiction type of furious.

    I know DeaconBlade, I remember reading your letter, and to be completely honest, I really was expecting more in terms of achievements. I played Halo 2, non-stop, for 3 years. I really wanted an achievement to work for, something to brag about, something to prove that I wasn’t a noob - but honestly, I really do believe they could have the achievements, at least some of them better.

    I don’t really have anything to say about the H3 achievements, but IMHO change the color of the box for your comments back to that shade of green you had…the yellow is kind of meh.

    And getting all the skulls, finding all the terminals, and the “meta-game” points for each mission..

    I thought that there were more achievements for singleplayer than multi, and the multiplayer ones aren’t all too hard, looks like one should get most of them after a week of playing (except the rank ones).

    Those achievements look a little to simple to acquire. Nothing really challenging on the list ( is this the official final list?) I should have about 80% of them within the first week.

    Transformers = Yes
    Overlord = not so much now with the camera system being used..or lack of camera system being used.

    QFT on the camera system……I did find that to be seriously lacking.

    I will still shovel over 60 hard earned bucks for the game though as I think it will be a great gaming experience overall……but getting used to that camera system will not be fun.

    Nine levels for the single-player campaign??? Uh, that doesn’t leave me feeling very warm and fuzzy inside. Each level better take 2 hours or more to complete or I am really going to be bummed out. With so few, or should I type so “ho hum”, achievements is Bungie trying to say that the campaign is so epic that you won’t care about achievements and play the game over and over on its own merit? Or, is Bungie indicating that the campaign is going to be worse than that cosmically crappy ending to Halo 2?

    i hope they’re trying to say it’s so epic shoe.
