All-Pro Football 2K8

Are you ready for 2K Sports’ return to the gridiron?  Many of you have been unwilling Madden players for the past few years without an alternative source for NFL football.  Although you won’t get your complete fill of NFL greatness with All-Pro 2K8, you will get a taste of some NFL legends with the game.  I’m really not too sure how I feel about that after seeing the latest trailer for the game.  I love Troy Aikman but do I love him in anything but the Dallas Cowboys’ star?

The media has been swirling around this title for a while and I wanted to know what the U360 football crowd felt about this title.  After watching the trailer, I just didn’t get the reaction I thought I would especially seeing the fruity looking uniforms the teams will have.  The animations and play seemed to be okay but not a jaw-dropping improvement over NFL 2K5.  I’m hoping for more from this title especially since it appears it will release next month.

All-Pro Football 2K8

The soundtrack for All-Pro Football 2K8 was released a week ago sporting some very nice tunes so at least the music will be thumpin’.  We’ve also seen the box art for the game with Barry Sanders, John Elway and Jerry Rice looking far more fit than anyone imagined.  Gameplay is what makes a game right?  I hope so because even with the editor in place, I’m struggling to get that old football feeling from this title right now.  With a $59.99 price tag, I really need to get that feeling before I invest in it.

What say you?

If it was truly 2K Football then I would agree. As Deac said the fruity looking uniforms are just part of the issue. We all know what went down in the past. Bottom Line 2K had the chance to have the NFL rights not once but twice. They turned it down then bring us a lame attempt like this? It looks almost like a boring version of Blitz I hope I am wrong but so far nothing I have seen gets me saying I can’t wait for this.

I was a fan of NFL 2K5 (Madden as well) and even though it didn’t have the best graphics, the presentaion on the game was great. It made me feel as though I was playing a football game on ESPN. This is why I hope EA takes advantage of the ESPN liscense and uses the same presentaion in Madden 08.

I think with this upcoming 2K football game, the uniforms and stadiums are going to be tough to get accustomed to but if the game play is good and the presentation is good then it could give Madden some competition but only time will tell.

    Deacon,

I’m now convinced your a stealth hater of 2K football and a closet Madden Fanboy. The are the worst kind of fanboys to. The one’s that pretend not to be biased. I’ve seen every comment you made about 2K both on your forums and xbox.com and every single one you bash the game, even before the trailer came out.

It’s ok to be a hater, just don’t play it off like you were giving the game a chance.

The graphics do not look as good as MADDEN…but Live looked better than 2k and I like 2k over live, so we will have to see the gameplay. Gameplay appears to be where it is at for…but don’t get me wrong the grahics can’t suck either…they just do not have to be EA’s graphics…I think it is going to be fun to play as the all time greats and a change from the norm…I was feeling like this game can bring TECMO BOWL like enjoyment! I saw some good things in the video…just not outstanding graphics
