I thought I’d share some humor and fun with you all on this Friday.  Many of you might not know but I’ve been around the gaming industry for about seven (7) years.  I’ve had some very interesting moments since venturing out inside the gaming world.  There have been many memorable times but I didn’t want to create a novel so I only chose a few to share.

Golden Eye Rogue Agent with EA

The was my first official event to be invited to.  It was the first time I had an opportunity to look inside how the games we all play are made.  I was blown away by the process.  It also helped me develop a new respect for the developers and publishers out there. 

That’s me with the fancy yellow boots trying to destroy one of the guys in the final multiplayer battle.  We were the last two standing in a tournament so we got to play on the huge theater screen in front of the entire Rogue Agent development team.  I was cheated and came in second place.  (yes it’s documented that I was cheated lol)  I got a fancy Rogue Agent limited ring for my skills.

Reviews being quoted on official sites

I’ve written reviews for a number of titles over the years and some of them have managed to be quoted on official games sites and even in publication.  I can’t find any of them though lol.  Still, it was a blast to experience this.

Nominated and selected Microsoft Xbox MVP

This was one of my most memorable moments.  I didn’t expect it so it was quite the surprise.  I got the selection last October and I’ve really enjoyed being involved with other Xbox MVPs and having the opportunity to mingle more closely with the people behind the Xbox and Xbox 360.

Selected Community Member of the Year

Receiving this from the community really meant a lot to me.  It was another thing that put some pep in my step so to speak just knowing that there are a few people out there paying attention to me.  It was great when the announcement came down that I was voted in last year. 

Receiving my first game to review

It was Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance.  I felt like a little kid getting a free game just to write my opinion about.   

First time in Canada with Need for Speed Most Wanted

I had never been to Canada but the invitation to preview EA’s Need for Speed Most Wanted changed that.  That’s me with my hand on my head in a deep state of confusion apparently.  The trip was amazing.  EA really knows how to conduct a community day.  Big thanks to Clarkus Kentus for hooking up many of my EA shindigs. 

First podcast download of Unscripted 360

You never really know how ideas will shape out until you give them a shot.  Well, I did and someone found it necessary to listen.  So when I released the first episode of U360, I let out a sigh of relief after the first download came. 

Lost Planet Summit Day with Capcom and Microsoft

This was the first time I had the chance to visit the Microsoft campus and meet the Xbox team so it was a lot of fun.  The crew at Capcom were very cool as well to hook up with.  I remember walking into the hotel lobby seeing the rest of the crew eating pizza.  I immediately unleashed some vintage Deacon on them with my usual humor and “get the party started” mentality.  That’s me in the picture ofcourse.  I was in a secret screening room at Microsoft reading the Lost Planet NDA.

Well I hope you all enjoyed that little trip down memory lane I suppose.  I wanted to thank everyone who played a part in giving me moments to remember.  I’m enjoying it all and I hope to continue experiencing things in this crazy little gaming world.
