EA Gets Serious with Xbox Live Arcade
Recently, the Xbox Live Arcade added a new title. Boom Boom Rocket. This was developed by Bizarre Creations and published ofcourse by Electronic Arts. It was EA’s first hands-on with an XBLA title. Well, a few days ago Electronic Arts got serious. With the release of Bizarre Creation’s Boom Boom Rocket, EA unloaded a new site tailored specifically for the Xbox Live Arcade.
This new site currently highlights Boom Boom Rocket and another title headed for the XBLA, Wing Commander Arena. It’ll be the first 16-player game on Xbox Live Arcade. It looks good enough but what I was mostly interested in was what EA didn’t show. On the front page of the new site are two locations that simply say, “Coming Soon“. What are these titles? Inquiring minds want to know. It looks as if we’ve only just begun with the gaming giant and Xbox Live Arcade. I’ll keep you posted but until then, click away and check out the site.

Add this to the list of reasons why all the EA haters are foolish.

I’m kinda excited to see Wing Commander for 1 fact only. 16 person multiplayer arcade game. Don’t forget to sign up for e-mail notification from them, never know when the website will change.

Coming Soon?
It would be nice if they released one or more of the old Need for Speed Games.
High Stakes? Hot Pursuit?

that wouldn’t be a bad idea but i doubt it.

Thanks for the info Dec. I hope EA spark a level of competition that will take Live Arcade to another level. I think it can be just like when we all went to the arcade and had a pocket full of quarters!

no problem YOC. i actually want to see EA commit to the XBLA. it can only be a good thing if they seriously put resources into bringing original titles to it.
