Xbox Live Maintenance - Half Way Mark
Many of you are twiddling your thumbs right now as the scheduled maintenance for Xbox.com and Xbox Live has begun. You’re almost to the finish line though! Between 6-7 hours from now, you’ll have your fix as the services should return then.
What do we do in the meantime?
Play offline. It does still exist ya know. Or if you didn’t get a chance to catch a few of Trixie’s recommendations, allow me to give you a few of my own U360 suggestions.
-Read my thoughts on Bullet Witch, Crackdown, 300 or glance at how I review games
-Enjoy the OXM interview and listen in on what the plans are for the magazine
-Listen in on Xbox 360 Elite rumors in Episode #30
-Catch up with friends in the U360 community message boards
-Learn more about Xbox Live maintenance and Xbox Live operations, with e’s Showcase
These are just a few additional things you can do while the maintenance is being done.
*edit - the maintenance is complete. Xbox Live and Xbox.com are back online.

Hey guys, I’m typing this with Windows Vista speech recognition. Setting this up has really helped relieve the boredom today, ha ha. I can tell it’s doing a lot better over time. Maybe i should try this in the forum

my pc can’t handle Vista… I haven’t decided what computer I’m going to purchase here in the future…I might get Mac Pro or a Dell XPS…this is going to happen way down the road…

Thought it would be back up by now, although it won’t kill me if it takes another hour. As long as we get Xbox Live back working as it should i’ll be happy.

Update from Major Nelson.
“This season’s Xbox Live Maintenance is almost complete. The engineers have begun the final testing and preparation to bring the service back online. We have one outstanding issue before we can flip the switch, so that means that we’re not back yet. I’ll post another update when I have more details. I don’t have an exact time when the service will be back online, and I’ll post an update when I do.”

UH oh people are getting pretty upset, it is pretty bad for this to happen a second time though
especially after all that talk from E last time about all they’ve done to prevent this in the future. Personally, it doesn’t bother me as much as long as it’s back up by tomorrow but I can defintely understand others frustrations.
Also Crazzytzar and | Echo 360 | I’m the same about wanting back onto the forums.
