More Achievement Rewards Program Details
If you haven’t taken a spin around the interweb lately, then you missed Microsoft’s announcement of a reward program for Achievements. For those of you who have taken that spin and are still a bit confused with the details, then I have a few more details to hopefully help clear things up.

How many prizes are being given away?
Prizes are going to be limited so be sure to register quickly for the program. Once prizes are gone, they’re gone.
I’m confused about how to figure out my annual Gamerscore. How do I know which level I’ll be in?
Your annual Gamerscore is calculated including your 2005, 2006 and 2007 Gamerscore. Your level is based off of this. That means in my case, I’ve gained 8,084 Gamerscore so I would be in Level 2 because my total under this computation falls between 5,000-9,999. For those with a current Gamerscore that equals more than 10,000 at the time of registration, you will be in Level 3. You do not have to gain the amount of Gamescore listed between Jan 1, 2007 - Feb 12, 2007. It is a total of your 2005, 2006 and 2007 at the time of registration that determines your level.
Once a Level 1 or 2 challenge is completed by Level 1 or 2 gamers, they will be awarded an increase in Level. (Level 1 would become Level 2 and Level 2 would become Level 3)
Which games are being included in these challenges?
All games and Achievements count towards this Old Spice Experience Challenge. Xbox and Old Spice want this program to be one where as many gamers as possible are included. No games are excluded. Future challenges, however, could be different.
Who gets prizes first? How are prizes decided?
Everyone who registers and completes the 1500 points in the specified time will be eligible for the digital prizes which are things like gamerpics and dashboard themes. Only about the first 70,000 to complete the challenge will be able to win the Arcade games, retail games, Microsoft points, t-shirts and such. So it really is a race in terms of those particular prizes. It doesn’t matter when you register if you’re among the first to finish.
All others outside of those who qualify for the big prizes will at least be eligible to receive the gamerpics, themes and other digital prizes. Just make sure you complete the challenge!
I hope this clears up a few things out there.

Great, thanks! I’ll be sending gamers your way to check these details since they are those contest winners from Memory Unit Mondays and Wireless Weekends that I notified about them winning, and when I told them about this they got interested.

thanks for the info - my only question is why would they call it “annual” gamerscore, if it covers 3 years?

So if you are able to successfully register for the site on the 12th, you’re guaranteed a prize if you get the GamerScore needed, or is it still a limited race?
I probably won’t be home to sign up on Monday anyway, but I’m still curious.

well everyone will be eligible to at least received the themes or gamerpics if they complete the challenge. so technically everyone might get something if they simply finish the challenge.

Good, I have 10,000 GS, I should start as a level 3… but I guess I won’t be able to do the competition for earning 1,500 GS, 360 is dead.

February 10th, 2007 at 12:54 am

I have a question. What if i disconnect my 360 from the internet, get the 1500 points now, and then reconnect to the internet on monday. Would this work?
February 10th, 2007 at 12:39 pm
i don’t know what you’re trying to do Johnny. the 1500 points challenge won’t be activated until Feb 12. anything you do before that date won’t matter. the achievements will need to be dated. and we all know that offline achievements aren’t dated.
