1600 Microsoft Points for $4.99
That’s right. Best Buy is offering 1600 Microsoft Points for simply preordering Halo 3! You’re going to buy the game anyway right? Well, you might as well get a bonus for doing so and scoring yourself some Microsoft Points. You can spend them on the new Halo 3 Xbox Live Marketplace content that will surely come when the game releases.

I’m not sure on this, but if you pre-order it online, they will hold the amount of the game from your available credit on your card. I’ve seen this deal floating around for quite a while now and that is the one reason I never took advantage of it. I already got $25 down for Halo 3 anyway, I had been asking to pre-order it since November 10th, 2004, GameStop finally let me last year.

I’m not a big Halo fan but I wouldn’t mind having the points

If you were to pre-order, get your points, then decide you wanted to cancel the pre-order… What would happen? I was kind of hoping to get the legendary version of Halo3, and they don’t seem to be offering it… still the points deal is snazzy.

Payment in full for a game that is still 10 months out?
Forget it.
I’ll wait to see some of the other deals first. Surely somebody will have a faceplate or t-shirt deal.
Why pre-order at all unless you’re getting something extra.
