The time is nearing for all Xbox 360 owners to have their chance to rock! Guitar Hero 2 is coming this Spring to an Xbox 360 near you. Take a look at the Achievements for Guitar Hero 2. It seems like RedOctane had some fun naming them. They include the Eddie Van Halen Award for a 500 note streak and the Rock Snob Award for refusing to play an encore. There are 50 Achievements for a total of 1000 points. (thx DAKing240)

I tried Guitar Hero when they had it out in wal-mart and I will admit I sucked, I failed, couldn’t hit a single cord but had fun playing around with it…

LOL!
The very thought of playing this makes me smile.
I have a n00b question though, do you have to buy a compatible Guitar to have any kind of reasonable chance of doing well?

they’ll sell a bundle w/guitar along with just the game i believe. but you will have to have a compatible guitar ofcourse.

Thats gonna make it hard to rent.
Speculation about how much the bundle will run? I’d think about $89.

i haven’t heard any price speculation but my guess is about what you listed sounds about right.

December NPD data is in!
I just got off the plane from CES, and got an email with the December NPD data. It looks like the Xbox 360 outsold the PS3 and the Wii combined last month. In addition Xbox 360 grabbed 51% market share in the United States for December 2006. I also found out that Gears has sold 3–million copies. I also saw some new Xbox Live data: we have 5 million active members, two-million messages crossing the network each day, and we have three-billion game play hours logged to date.

Amazing!

That (probable) $90 bundle is going to be mighty painful, I’m really looking forward to this game though. Maybe I can find it on ebay for less, or get it somewhere used- $50 used to hurt, now the next-gen $60 is agonizing, dunno how I can scrounge up $90.
My wallet loathes me.

The guitar also has full controls on it from what I understand.
…meaning, if you were so inclined you could use your virtual axe and beat down people on GoW with it.
Trippy!
