IPTV with Xbox 360
CES officially began late last night with the opening keynote from Microsoft. There were some very exciting announcements from Vista to 10.4 million Xbox 360 consoles sold to date. But none of the news was more exciting than that of the IPTV announcement. IPTV is expected to be available this holiday 2007 season.
“Our goal is to make entertainment more personal, more interactive and more social,” Bach said. “IPTV on Xbox 360 and Xbox Live are powerful examples of ways we are bringing together the worlds of gaming, TV viewing and community to make it easy for people to access and discover their favorite content and share their personal experiences with the communities they are part of.”

Im very excited about this too. IPTV and VOD is the future of how we watch television and movies.

As much as I want to say this is a great addition to the ever growing list of feattures for the 360. i’m still a little ticked we don’t have the video marketplace due to legal, and Canada probably won’t see this until soon after the next Xbox is released.;)

This news didn’t last long…today at Macworld Apple crushes this offering with it’s own iTV product.
…Zune got further crushed today too with the new iPod and iPhone.

Let’s put it this way…
It will be the lead story on NBC Nightly News (probably others as well) tonight.
I may buy the phone at the end of the year, I just got a new Motorola. I was letdown by the fact the new Blu-Ray equiped Mac Pro Systems will not be out for a few more months. I am ready to buy a new system as soon as they hit. I will certainly be buying the iTV as soon as I can get one.
