And here we go with another Unscripted 360 Showcase and this time they brought their own beer.  Ladies and pricks get ready to feel a little Irish love…

Tell me about the gamer behind the Gamertag.

I like to consider myself a hard-core gamer but in all reality I’m pretty casual in my approach to it. I’m 31 years young now and still love playing games. There is no real end in sight for me. I wish I had more time to play though, the g/f watches alot of T.V. so we have to compromise in that respect.

I’ve read a few comments aimed at your Gamertag….so how’d you come up with it?

As far back as I can remember all of my friends would call me an Irishprik when they got upset with me. I guess it just kind of stuck. Plus my first and last names are very Irish and I love beer lol.

Remember that funky little leaked Fall update dashboard with the groovy rocket icon that had Launchpad next to it?  Well this is what the little rocket was about.  XNA Game Studio Express was released today.  Are you ready to play ideas that your very own community members have developed or those that you’ve developed?  That time is here.

Here are few details from Michael Klucher, Program Manager for XNA Game Studio:

To download the released product for Windows, head over to: http://msdn.com/xna/gse/  You can now also purchase a subscription to the XNA Creators Club from the Xbox Live Marketplace on your Xbox 360 console if you have an active silver or gold Xbox Live subscription.

Before you purchase a subscription to the XNA Creators Club please take the time to go over the PC and Xbox 360 console requirements in the readme. Once you’ve done that here’s how to get it:

On the Xbox Live blade, go to “Xbox Live Marketplace”
Select “Games” and then “All Game Downloads”
Scroll down the list to find the “XNA Creators Club”

Here you’ll be able to go under Memberships to purchase a 4-Mo membership for $49.00 or an Annual (12-mo) membership $99.00. The prices used here reflect the subscription rates for the United States and pricing may differ for your local region or country if outside the USA.

You’ll also need to download the XNA Game Launcher from the same area. Having done so, you will find a new XNA Game Launcher program on your Games blade under Demos and More.

Did ya miss this?  Ofcourse you did.  Well if you’ve been keeping up with the site, you’d know that I’ve had my hands pretty full since the last Showcase.  But now that things are simmering down, I’m getting things back in order.  And here we are with a fresh Unscripted 360 Showcase!

Poo?  Poo who?  It’s a doctor that you may not want to visit…

So who is the guy behind the console?

My real name is Corbin.  I am a 19 year old full-time college student attending Cal Poly Pomona.  I am a sophomore (2nd year) working on a Marketing degree.  Eventually I would like to get my Masters degree in marketing as well.  When I’m not at school, you can most likely find me at work.  I work at a bank as a Personal Banking Assistant at the 7th largest mortgage lending company in the United States.  A very good job for someone my age.  My ultimate goal is to become a Marketing executive for a Videogame Production company.  *crosses fingers*

I thought I’d make up a list since we’re nearing the end of the year and the holidays are upon us.  These are my own little reasons and none that you have to agree with.  It’s just for discussion and viewing.  But hey, you guys and gals trust me so pay attention.

Xbox 360

DeaconBlade’s  11:

Cost – If you’re looking to get into the next generation of gaming with high definition games and digital distribution of movies etc.  The most affordable place to do that is with the Xbox 360.  $399 US gets you in the game!

Gears of War – If you haven’t played it, I suppose you won’t understand.  But I’ve witnessed this game convert a die hard PS3 fan into an Xbox 360 owner on the spot.  Word.

Xbox Live – Is there any online network better in console gaming?  Friends management, selection of online games, leaderboards etc.  It’s a network that has no rival.

BioShock – I’m listing this because you just don’t want to have even a remote chance of missing what will become of this game.  The trailer at X06 was amazing!

Ease of Use/Setup – What?  That’s right.  Can a next generation console possibly be easier to use or setup right from the start than this?  Choosing a name (no random numeric # to remember here), having all your friends recognize you no matter what game you’re playing, getting connected to Xbox Live, purchasing downloadable content…all done with the controller.  And now you can even access some of these features directly from the internet.

Viva Piñata -  Did you think I’d leave this surprisingly addictive game off of my list?  No way, especially after I went on a personal Piñata recruiting mission.  Don’t miss out on the Piñata

Design – Who wants to be stuck with no way to customize your console?  There are dozens of faceplates and skins to make your Xbox 360 more personal.  And the design doesn’t stop with the console itself as you can customize the look of your Xbox 360 dashboard just the same by sticking a personal photo in the background or simply downloading a new theme or Gamerpic!  Are you in love with Gears of War?  Well show it by grabbing the Gears of War faceplate.  Easy peezy.

Xbox Live Arcade – The 360 isn’t fit for kids?  Please.  Need a bit of retro or some quick action with a not-so involved title?  How about trying some Pac-man, Cloning Clyde, Doom or Small Arms on for size then?  The Xbox Live Arcade is a bridge to yesteryear with a game like Digdug while being a breeding ground for originality for others with games like Cloning Clyde.  No matter your taste or age, you can find something quick and fun with the Arcade.

Xbox Live Marketplace – Game demos, HD content, TV shows, themes, In-game content, picture packs, new maps…you name it!  Trying out the latest game before you buy it or downloading one of your favorite TV episodes is all here now and easily done right in the Marketplace

Halo 3 – I suppose I couldn’t leave this little puppy out.  I will admit to being de-Halo’d a bit after Halo 2 but what I’ve seen of Halo 3, I can tell my faith in the Master Chief may well be restored.  You do not want to miss the ending of this trilogy!

Parental Controls – You can never have too much protection in this day and age.  To have tools within your console that help you protect your child or that crazy uncle you have from seeing or playing content that’s not suitable is a huge plus.  Protection is made simple with the Xbox 360.

Xbox 360 Laws  -  What other console has some fun and humorous laws to abide by that the community itself has made up?  Ok, this isn’t actually in the 11 but still, where can you find a community that creates and interacts like the one we are all a part of?

So shake your tail feather and jump in already!

So this is what our fellow Japanese have been waiting for huh?  It seems like they’re ready to tackle the Blue Dragon bundle in the land that has been foreign to most things Xbox.  The Blue Dragon bundle is set to debut today and crowds have already been reported for the release of it.  The bundle comes with the Xbox 360 Core system, a pretty jazzy faceplate and a copy of the game.

Blue Dragon

Famed game producer Hironobu Sakaguchi of Mistwalker and developer Artoon present the highly anticipated Xbox 360™ exclusive Blue Dragon. Featuring the character design of Akira Toriyama of Dragon Ball Z and music by Nobuo Uematsu of Final Fantasy, Blue Dragon is an epic role-playing game that centers on a young boy named Shu and several of his friends.

How many of you are importing this game or waiting for a possible US release? Check out a few pictures of the Blue Dragon release over at Joystiq.

There’s one thing I can safely say as we enter the tail end of the holiday season.  You’ll have plenty to download in the Xbox Live Marketplace.  So after all the turkey and presents and whatever kind of partying that goes on in your homes, you can head right out and get a lot of goodies.

With the addition of the Video Marketplace, I’ll simply list the TV show to point out new content in that series most of the time.  So if I don’t list specific episodes, don’t go crazy just know that the particular TV show I listed has some new content.  Be sure to check for pricing on the VM content.

And with that said, let’s dig right in to another Midweek Marketplace.

During the Lost Planet Summit, I had the chance to sit down with Tina Wood from Microsoft’s 10 channel, on10.net.  Well that particular sit down just went live so you get another look inside the ‘velvet voice’ as so many of my divas put it.  I appreciate the great work on the video Tina!  You made me look a little decent so I’m really pleased with it.  Notice the Xbox 360 Laws in the video…you better get up to speed before you get cited for a violation. (wink)

DeaconBlade 360 w/Tina Wood and on10.net

I’m not as exciting as Laura and how she brought the sexy back to the Xbox 360 so don’t expect me to get jiggy with it in the video.  I hope you all enjoy a little more of me mixing it up in this crazy gaming industry.

Today marks the day that gamers in North America can register for a chance to participate in the Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta being released exclusively for the Xbox 360 this coming spring 2007.  Did you say chance?  Well don’t you remember me eluding to the fact that you’d have to be selected in order to play?  You have to pay more attention the next time.  Bungie has already stated there would be several chances for those stateside and abroad to enjoy the beta, but I suggest you plan ahead now to not be so disappointed if you don’t get the chance to play.

Halo 3

The beta registering begins today at www.halo3.com so you might want to bookmark the site.  Also today, you can tune in to an exclusive broadcast of the latest Halo 3 trailer.  During the airing of Monday Night Football on ESPN, a new 60-second Halo 3 trailer will air giving fans a look at the closing chapter in the Halo trilogy.  What does Bungie have in store tonight?  Don’t miss it!  Don’t fret if you do because it will be available on Xbox.com following the broadcast premiere.

Are you ready from some Master Chief?
