The media blast has gone out but ofcourse I wanted the Unscripted 360 crowd to know about the next entry into the Xbox Live Arcade.  I love these original XBLA titles!

Stainless Software, the creators of the renowned vehicle-combat franchise Carmageddon, return to their roots with Novadrome, an original 3-D smash-em-up game.

Xbox Live Arcade

In Novadrome, gamers blast, smash and crash their way to victory as they fight for survival among friends and foes alike in one of the 15 detailed 3-D arenas. Abducted by robots from the planet Nova, the players must stop their captors before they launch a full-scale invasion against Earth. Gamers will need to use their speed, wit and determination to defeat robot gladiators and other abductees in a series of combat-driving competitions in high-powered armored vehicles equipped with front-mounted automatic weapons. Novadrome also provides gamers with a frantic multiplayer mode for up to eight players via Xbox Live. (Gold subscription required for Xbox Live play)

I will have to download the trial for it. I already plan on getting Assault Heroes so if this is good I will pick up both. I just wish I had some points lol.

Cleric has pics posted on his site and WOW it looks pretty good. I wonder how many MB this game is.

I need some points too, looks like XBLA may keep my wallet busy until Lost Planet comes out.

I’ll have to check out the trial for this one. Sounds pretty cool. I’ve been looking for some videos and/or pics. Anyone have some links?

I like these original titles too. I was kinda getting tired of the retro games even though they were cool for a while.

Hey guys, I am trying to get the answer to one question I have regarding this game… does it have single console multi-player support?

It would really be nice if more of the arcade games supported single console multi-player support. As you all know, I think the 360 is the best, but when I see games like Rayman that is coming out for the Wii, I wonder where the great party games are for the 360?

Also, the games that do have support for more than one person on a single console often don’t allow both players to play on Live! My Wife and I enjoy Burnout Revenge but sadly we can’t play it together on Live! with our other friends.

By, you all aren’t too eager to answer my local multi-player questions ;-)

Well I do want to say that I spent about 30 minutes playing Novadrome trial last night (that’s about all the time I could squeeze in) and let me tell you, that game is a blast! I am a huge fan of the Carmageddon and Twisted Metal series of games and this game definitely fits into that category.
Basically you feel like you are at the controls of an R/C car that is outfit with lasers and potentially other weapons. I didn’t play through what looks like a campaign mode, I jumped into something called Free Play. The map I was playing on resembled a huge arena with jumps and obstacles (reminded me a bit of the last Rush game I played on Dreamcast, you know the one where you can do stunts for points). You have to eliminate your enemies before the time runs out or before you get wrecked. There are also robots walking around that you can shoot at.
The speed and action is intense. The enemy cars will get right on you and if you try to turn on them they will all crash into you and you are toast. There are power-ups, weapons and health modules on the map. I didn’t manage to win any of the games I played but I was still getting the hang of how to play. I found myself using the Y button frequently to right myself and found that you can actually use the Y button while in mid-air to make sure you land smoothly on all four wheels.
I am definitely going to spend more time with this game and will most likely buy it in the next few days along with Assault Heroes.
