Gears of War All-Nighter Details

Why play?
Ten (10) lucky gamers will be selected for a brand spanking new copy of Gears of War signed by the military named fiend himself, Major Nelson. If you have a copy already, this is surely enough reason to own another one.
If you’re planning an event while playing Gears of War, be sure to blog about it or take some pics and send them TriXie’s way at xlmail@microsoft.com!
Has the cost of the PlayStation 3 console caught up to it already? I’ve made several comments about the cost here at Unscripted 360, both on the show and throughout articles I’ve posted. I’ve always been firm in my reasoning that parents will ultimately shun the $499 or $599 price. It’s nothing for the hardcore gamers out there but what about the average family looking to get their kids into the next generation? I may have been right about what the cost will mean at least according to what I’ve seen here in Dallas.
Last night I visited a few local Gamestop stores and a Best Buy because I had a few items to exchange from Christmas. After handling my business in each store, I couldn’t help but venture out to see how things were going with the PlayStation 3. I’ll let you know what I noticed in each store.

The Best Buy Story:
I’m in Best Buy exchanging a copy of Pitch Black HD-DVD for The Devil Wears Prada (please don’t ask why). After I do this, I figured I’d head out to the PS3 kiosk to see what’s up. NBA 07 was being played and it looked pretty good. I didn’t see any glaring differences from what I’ve played on the Xbox 360. After a minute of watching, the strangest thing happened…it froze. I laughed a bit as the guy playing looked stunned. Reset. Wait. Play. After about 10 minutes, the strangest thing happened again…it froze. I laughed again thinking about a post I had read earlier about forced freezes and Sony reps. Possible? No. But it was still funny.
Another month has gone by and so must another Top 10 according to GameFly appear. With the recent release of new consoles, how do you think the Wii or PlayStation 3 will do in the Cross-Platform category? How about we find out right now.

Who said the giving has to stop when the holidays do? I told you to get ready for an exciting 2007 with Unscripted 360 and I decided to start the party early. Five (5) lucky Xbox 360 gamers are going to win their very own copy of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition!
A little over a month ago, I gave you the hands on Lost Planet treatment. Now, Capcom and Unscripted 360 are magnifying the new year celebration with some ‘extreme’ fun. Are you ready to fight the cold and defend the planet? Lost Planet ships January 12 so get ready!

So what do you have to do? Just answer these 3 questions, get them right and you’ll have your chance to win. I’ll pick the 5 winners from the batch of correct answers. Answers can be found on the official website and the Lost Planet Blog with Brian Dunn.
What is the name of the main character in Lost Planet?
What engine does Lost Planet use?
What is the name of the alien race you battle in Lost Planet?
Email your answers before January 12. Winners will be notified and selected before January 31. Allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. This giveaway is open to everyone. (it won’t take that long but I had to put a time on it) Good luck.
Hey out there. I’m sure everyone is preparing for some family fun with the Xbox 360, Xbox Live or whatever you choose to do. I wanted to send a holiday greeting to everyone who has been here for the ride with Unscripted 360!
Get ready for a thrilling ride when the new year comes! More interviews, more giveaways…more community fun is coming! I hope everyone is ready. And again, I hope you all enjoy your holiday season.
Catch me on Xbox Live if you can’t catch me otherwise. I want to know the goodies you all got underneath the tree!
Guess what I have for you? It’s been a while but here is another Unscripted 360 UK Showcase. I tracked down another fine gamer from England. Ready to see how life is for the boys across the ocean?
What’s the story behind your Gamertag?
Well… I was having a few drinks with some friends in England, when we all decided to create our Gamertags on Xbox.com for the release of the Xbox 360! Everyone chose theirs and then it was my turn. I noticed that we were all drinking a beer called “CruzCampo” (It’s a Spanish beer and very nice I might add!). I was a bit worse for wear and had drank quiet a bit, so I was being called “Mr Campo” by my friends, and it just stuck so I chose that when making my Gamertag.
Once again I’d like to point you all to the new Showcases that have popped in this week. One might make you do something you don’t want to and the other can help you achieve some things you thought were impossible.
Who’s on first? Check ‘em out here in the Showcases!

Although my Xbox 360 console has yet to have any problems, I won’t fail to report this bit of news announced today for all of you who have experienced issues. It’s out with the old 90-day warranty and in with the new standard 1-year warranty for every Xbox 360 console purchased in the US and Canada.
Effective today (December 22), the one year warranty is now the standard for all Xbox 360 consoles. Customers that experience hardware issues with their Xbox 360 within one year of purchase will have their consoles repaired at no cost. Moreover, the new warranty policy is retroactive, so consumers that may have already paid for out-of-warranty Xbox 360 repair within one year of the console’s purchase will be eligible for reimbursement of their console repair charges.

Are you ready to be down with the King? Well even if you aren’t, dig this new Unscripted 360 Showcase! He’s fresh from an Achievement Anonymous meeting…
What’s life outside of gaming like with you? Who is DAKing240?
I am a student at FSU, and the college life pretty much consumes me. Life outside of gaming revolves around a cycle of sleep, school, eating, drinking, posting 360 related news, going out, and then pretty much repeating the next day with going out being replaced by studying and homework on occasion.
