I hope everyone had a wonderful day of eating, laughs and ofcourse gaming!  I’ll take a quick moment to interrupt your holiday feasting with a very interesting video from Duncan over at on10.net.  This should be extra stuffing for you Trekkies out there.  The video is a complete run through of a full mission in Star Trek: Legacy.

It’s a very good inside look Duncan!  The time is nearing for Legacy to release so why not sit down and get reminded of what’s in store come this December.  For anyone who may have missed Unscripted’s interview with Gary Conti, associate producer with Mad Doc Software, be sure to check it out here.

Get ready to engage!

Last night I had a chance to get some early action with the Lost Planet: Extreme Condition multiplayer demo that Xbox 360 owners will have a chance to download tomorrow.  Capcom sent early holiday goodies to a few community members including myself, Godfree from Gamertag Radio and shazam from Joystiq.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

Lost Planet Multiplayer Video Footage

The ’show on wheels’ himself, Godfree, managed to grab some really nice footage of us laying the smack down on each other and also managed to conduct a video show between himself and yours truly.  I managed to get a few kills especially with the VC!  Check the link above for the video and get ready for some action tomorrow.  Did you miss the exclusive interview with Capcom on Lost Planet?

I know I mentioned this already but it deserves its own highlight so to speak.  Major Nelson just revealed the news and the Xbox Live Video Marketplace is now officially live!  I know you want the pricing details and I’ll post them now but be sure to hit up Elle’s look into the Video Marketplace which tells you some much needed information concerning Usage Rights etc.

How do I get to Video Marketplace?

To access Video Marketplace, sign in to Xbox Live, then:

On the Media blade, select Video Marketplace, or
On the Xbox Live blade, select Xbox Live Marketplace, Media and Entertainment.

Do I have to wait for my download to complete before watching it?

No. You can start watching some videos before they have finished downloading. After starting a video download, watch for a notification that says the video is ready to play, then press the Xbox Guide button on your controller. If you miss the notification, select your partially downloaded video from your active download list or from the video area on the Media blade. Fast forward, reverse, and skip can’t be used until the video has finished downloading. All playback commands are supported after the content has been completely downloaded.

Usage Rights

You can download two kinds of content from Video Marketplace: Purchase and rental. What is now called purchase is pretty much what you’re already used to. You download the video and you can view it on your console with any profile. In addition, you can download and view any video on another console as long as you’re signed in to Xbox Live®with the profile you originally downloaded it with. Most of the time you’ll see a “does not expire” tag when you check the info for this kind of video.

FAQs on the new Video Marketplace are already up within the community.  I’ve been waiting for this.  I hope the HD movie selection is good!

Boy how time flies when you’re playing great games, getting dashboard updates and logging in millions of sessions over Xbox Live huh?  Do you remember camping and the Best Buy 360 locators that were spreading around in the community during launch?  I sure do.

It’s been a long, fun ride this past year and I’d like you all to join me in giving a big WOOT! to the Xbox 360 for a great first year!  It’s been an amazing year with a lot of surprises and announcements.  I can’t wait to see what the coming year(s) will bring.

Xbox 360

You’d think that a console would take its birthday off but nope…not the Xbox 360.  Today you can head out to the Xbox Live Marketplace and download Small Arms, new Obilivion content in Knights of the Nine and the Xbox Live Video Marketplace comes alive today as well!  And I won’t even mention that tomorrow the Lost Planet multiplayer demo hits. (ok so I just did)

And if those weren’t enough reasons to sit down this holiday weekend with the Xbox 360, then how about 360+ more reasons to love it!  Xbox.com’s TriXie, came up with over 360 reasons for you to settle down with the Xbox 360.  I love #317 the best!  I was informed that the list isn’t in order of importance but who cares…#317 ROCKS BABY!

Happy Birthday Xbox 360!

The numbers have spoken and Gears of War has become a million-copy-seller worldwide in just 2 weeks!  That makes it the fastest-selling original Xbox title of all time.

Gears of War Million Sold

As Gears of War continues to emerge throughout the world ahead of the holiday sales rush, the Xbox 360 juggernaut has sold an impressive 1 million copies world-wide in just its first two weeks of release elevating the game to the fastest-selling title of 2006 and fastest-selling original Xbox game of all time.

The battle continues to rage on Xbox Live as well, as more than 850,000 unique gamers have engaged in 10 million gameplay sessions while unlocking an impressive 7 million Achievements.  On top of being the #1 title on Xbox Live, Gears of War has also driven new members to the network, as paid registrations per day have skyrocketed more than 50 percent since the game?s launch.

“From the very beginning, we knew Gears of War would be an industry-defining hit,? said Shane Kim, corporate vice president at Microsoft Game Studios.  As we watched both the game and its hype grow, it became obvious that Gears of War was the rare title that could live up to such incredible anticipation, and judging from the reaction of critics and fans, it’s done just that.”

Don’t have a copy of Gears of War yet and you’re tired of missing out on the action?  Take a quick dip over to Unscripted 360’s Gears of War Idol Giveaway!

Remember the news last week about the public beta of Halo 3?  Every Xbox Live subscriber needed a new set of undies afterwards just thinking of the chance to play some Halo 3 multiplayer.  Well what would you think if you didn’t get to play?  What if you had to be selected?

Halo 3

I came across this line from VNUNet concerning the Halo 3 beta and Bungie while browsing the internet:

The company said that selected beta testers would be playing a multiplayer game and providing Bungie with valuable data to help the development team.

The ‘company’ ofcourse is referring to Bungie.  I know the beta details are limited but what would life be without its speculations and rumors right?  If untrue, I wonder how quickly the story will be revised.  I suppose in a beta environment you’d want it as controlled as possible for testing so the idea of selecting people is understandable at least in my eyes.  No matter…just as long as I’m one of the selected few!

What say you fans of Halo 3 about the possibility of not being selected to beta the multiplayer?

Perhaps the most anticipated Xbox Live Arcade original title, Small Arms is set to debut this Wednesday right before you dive into some turkey.  The biggest surprise of them all is that the speculated price point of 1200 Microsoft Points was just that…speculation.

You’ve seen my lineups for Games and Accessories already.  Hopefully they helped you sort through all the hottest titles and accessories to make your holiday shopping easier.  Now it’s time for another round of my Starting Lineup and this time it’s about the hottest stories that got the community in a frenzy this year.

What were we all talking about?  What made the biggest splash in the headlines this year?  Are you ready for my Starting Lineup?

X06 - What didn’t come out of this show that wasn’t worth headlines?  You can start with the Peter Jackson partnership to the announcement of Halo Wars.  There was so much heading out of this event that it was hard to count.  The next installment in the Splinter Cell series is exclusive to Xbox 360.  X06 brought the noise!

TGS (Tokyo Game Show) - There was more good news prior to X06 at TGS.  1080p!  Many will argue about how it can be done and that’s exactly why it was another of the top stories this year.  HD enthusiasts were divided on whether or not it was possible but the fact remains, the Xbox 360 was about to be 1080p enabled!

Xbox 360 System Update (Spring) - When the Xbox 360 launched, there were some noticeable improvements that could be made.   The biggest of which was addressed in the Spring system update…Active Downloading!

Gears of War Emergence Day - I can’t recall in the brief history of both the original Xbox and the Xbox 360 if there was ever a release date that created more buzz than the announcement of the Gears of War release date and subsequent plans for Emergence Day.  It hit like a meteor across the community and is still being talked about due to how hard core the game turned out to be.

E3 2006 Halo 3 - This year’s E3 brought one thing that I’m sure no one will soon forget…the unveiling of Halo 3.  What’s so fascinating about the trailer that debuted at E3 was the fact that it was IN GAME.  It wasn’t some computer generated cinematic.  The visuals you saw in the Halo 3 trailer were the same you’ll see in the game.  When the trailer hit the internet and the Xbox Live Marketplace, there were massive downloads!

There you have it.  The top stories of 2006 that made it into my starting lineup.  And as always, every starting 5 needs a solid bench to make the rotation strong.  Getting some quality minutes off the bench are the stories on the Xbox Live Vision Camera, E3 2006 Grand Theft Auto IV announcement, Bringing It Home E3 2006, and Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays.

Welcome to another Monday.  I’m happy today because the Dallas Cowboys dethroned the Indianapolis Colts yesterday.  I’m happy today because tonight on Heroes we could quite possibly get to the end of ’Save The Cheerleader, Save The World’.  I’m so ready for tonight’s episode of Heroes!  I hope everyone is good in Xbox 360 land out there.  There were quite a few things that came to light this morning that I’m going to share on this Monday Morning Scripted.

First up is a hilarious video by Laura Foy over at on10.net about her adventures to see just how loyal PS3 fans are.  She offers up some pizza and an autographed Xbox 360 to the person who is willing to get out of the camping line.  It’s a very good video you all should check out.

Do you guys remember Precentor?  He was in a Showcase a little while back.  Well, he co-hosted a podcast this weekend w/FearTheBoot and he’s giving away some cool swag.  Listen to the show to find out the details.  The details of the contest start @ 05:30 into the show for you impatient ones.  Some of the goodies include a cool Xbox Live neon sign and Arcade Unplugged Vol. 1.  There’s nothing like free swag.  I got dibs on the neon sign!

Hot topics:

Yes I know it’s not the middle of the week technically but hey who cares right.  You guys want the information that’s buzzing throughout the community and well, here the Midweek Marketplace is to recap a lot of things that have gone on within the Xbox Live Marketplace lately.  Sit back and get your Active Downloads ready.

If I miss anything, you guys know how to reach me.
