Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel

You know, the Xbox 360 is introducing a lot of firsts for me.  I mentioned this to Duncan over at on10.net that for the first time after picking up an Xbox 360, I was interested in a wireless controller.  For the first time, I was interested in wireless networking.  For the first time, I was interested in video cams.  And for the first time, I’m actually very interested in a racing wheel for my racing games.  It’s sturdy, sleek and first-party!  Why oh why must you do this to me Xbox 360.

I thought I’d give that spill before I hit you with another cool video that Duncan put together.  Remember the first time Duncan caught up with U360, he led everyone to a sweet video on the Xbox 360 Wireless Headset.  This time, he and Jesse Lewin bring 11 minutes of video insight on the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel with the Program Manager for the wheel, Dennis Tom.

Thanks for another tease Duncan!

I love the wheel but it’s just way too expensive.

Just watched the video, looks awesome. I’ll be getting it when Forza 2 comes out. They did the design perfectly.

I’ll be picking this up. I love racing games and the thought of force feedback with Burnout 5 makes my heart race even more. I just hope the major studios support it. Is programming for force feedback done in game or is it set up in the hardware? this will be a first for me too…

One other thing, I was looking at that website with the video, and I noticed they had a link for the video optimized for the Zune. Great to see it catch on! :)

Um yeah I still think this won’t help my driving at all in burnout… Well maybe I’ll wreck every 600ft instead of every 500ft… LOL… :)

[...] After some single player action, we headed into a conference room with 10 flat panel monitors…8 for multiplayer and 2 for single.  The map that will be available on the Marketplace was up first.  We had some frantic action with that map!  There were a host of new  grenades in the game as well as new weapons.  The Vital Suits (VS) were in multiplayer as well.  We got some single player deathmatch first before moving to some team deathmatch (4 vs 4).  The other map (exclusive for pre-orders) was incredible.  I can’t go into detail about it but it was perfect.  It was a mixture of underground passageways and high terrain buildings that players will have multiple strategies to dominate.  The action was so intense that Tony Hynes, from Gamerscoreblog, started dishing out awards for the best trash talker.  I scored a win during one round of trash talking!  (but I wasn’t the ultimate winner of that event lol)  One other Xbox MVP scored the new Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel for a bit of “extreme” trash talking. (you had to be there to hear how funny it was) [...]
