Just when you thought you’d never get to know more about this game beyond buying it, VU Games prepares to unleash a demo on the Xbox Live Marketplace. “Eragon” (Sierra Entertainment) is based on the worldwide literary phenomenon and Twentieth Century Fox fantasy epic hitting theaters on December 15. The demo will be soaring onto Xbox Live Marketplace starting today. (unconfirmed as I type this but I assume tomorrow) Demo confirmed…it’s up.

Demo:
Players join Eragon and Brom as they journey to Darret Village. Eragon is slowly learning his true power, but in this early level Eragon has not yet mastered his dragon rider magic and must rely on his skills with the sword and bow to escape the forces of Durza and Galbatorix. Sapphira swoops in to take out the enemy forces, but players will look forward to taking to the skies in the full game to experience the dragon rider legacy.
Eragon: The Video Game ships out on November 14th. I’m looking forward to the movie for sure and this is great to be able to get some hands on with the game before it releases.

You would have had to read the book to even hope to understand that description…I don’t have high hopes for this game.

I’ll check out the demo. But we all know how most of the movie based video games turn out.
The movie looks pretty cool though.

Yeah I agree with Intangible, this just seems like another cheesy regurgitated game premise to anyone who hasn’t read the book.

games like theses that are based on a story of events are too linear. Like King Kong. They need to spin off a bit like KOTOR

Oh I will, I just don’t think that there are enough fans of the book for this game to do well with it being solely marketed towards them. I’ll post my opinion on the game once I get a chance to play the demo and yes nbafreak unfortunately xbox.com is down until 10am AST (6PST)

i agree on that Intangible…in fact, i’m posting it here to try and help awareness on it for those who are less inclined to know about it…me being one of them lol
still, with the host of titles releasing around that time…Gears, Viva, Rainbow…might be little room for Eragon.

Is the game a last-gen port?

I gave the demo a 10 min play and kind of enjoyed it. Graphicly speaking, I wan’t too impressed. The controll of the main character was fine, but calling in your dragon to help was kind of annoying. I want to play more of the demo tonight after work to see more of the game.
