The holiday season is fast approaching as well as the end of the year so I thought I’d unveil Unscripted’s Starting Lineup. My ‘Starting Lineup’ in the Games category are the five titles that I think should be in everyone’s starting lineup of games this holiday season…your must-buy games.
I’ll be introducing more of my ‘Starting Lineup’ categories soon. Look for categories dealing with the hottest stories, community shine and others. But first to debut is the Games category. (yes you know I’ll design a fancy image to represent the ‘Starting Lineup’)
Viva Piñata - Is there any surprise that this has made its way to my lineup? You know my mission is to turn you all into Piñatatans! The Xbox 360 has been in need of a solid title to appeal to the young adults and parents alike. I think this is it. Viva Piñata mixes some very colorful environments and characters with a fun theme. It sizzles for sure!
Star Trek: Legacy - I have a mission. To boldly go where no gamer has gone before. This title is ambitious. It combines every Star Trek saga you can think of from TV to film. It has my favorite captains, Picard and Kirk, in it so I’m set for its release. I’ll be in the skies commanding the Enterprise and any of the other ships I can manage to navigate. The only question is, who will I be dominating?
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas - I’ve never been into the Rainbow Six series but having seen what I’ve seen from this game…I’ll be into it now. The squad feel is seemingly back and to top it off, this game features the DigiMask technology so you all will be receiving head shots from the real DeaconBlade and not some default character. What more can I say or ask for?
Gears of War - Does this game need any reason? I didn’t think so. The way that this game has been displayed visually alone warrants an entry into the Starting Lineup.
Fuzion Frenzy 2 - If you were like me with Fuzion Frenzy on the original Xbox, then you know how much fun it was to play the first Fuzion Frenzy with family and friends. I anticipate that Fuzion Frenzy 2 will be just as much fun.
I wanted to round out my Stating Lineup with some quality reserves who are key coming off the bench to add to your holiday lists. Every Starting Lineup needs key players coming off the bench to fill in for the starters from time to time. They include Superman Returns, Call of Duty 3, Marvel Ultimate Alliance and FIFA Soccer 07.

Great list so far……although I’m not a Big Fan of WW2, I’m sure Call of Duty 3 will be added, as probably Need For Speed: Carbon will be too…..But every single one listed above I already have reserved and paid for….Nice Idea

F.E.A.R. i know its a port from the PC and all but its looks really good. Project 8 also looks like it’ll be a good game and give the TH series some fresh legs. Id even put Smack Down Vs Raw on the 2nd team just for the fact that it wont be on PS3. Even though it’ll be on SONY’s other platforms its imo still a win for the 360 to get a game that has historically just been on a SONY platform.
Im so looking forward to rainbow 6, they have a viral site im sure everyone already knows. Google Save-Vegas its pretty neat.

Hi Gang,
I know I have been MIA for a while but I had to chime in because once October is over and Fear at Frontier wraps, I will be back online and ready to play. Deacon, as for your list. Gears of War has me so psyched. I went to the EB event last Saturday night and enjoyed viewing the in game footage. I think this game is going to keep me busy for a while but I also have Call of Duty 3 on pre-order. Both of these games are perported to be coming to stores on the 7th of November as is Star Trek.
I am looking forward to Star Trek but unlike the shooters I decided to first add Star Trek to my gamefly queue. I am looking forward to getting hands on and I am also looking forward to your player reviews. If there is a unanimously great rating I will go out and pickup the game. I have played some good and some bad Trek games in the past and so that is where my hesitation comes from.
Now back to GoW and why I am so excited about it. Epic has really impressed me in the past with their Unreal family of games. GoW can certainly be called a next generation subling of the Unreal franchise. The action is fast, ferious and explosive. GoW might not be the typical run and gun but I think the run, jump and cover type of play will still be fast-paced and heart pounding.
Call of Duty 3 is also promising more of what we liked in the previous two installments. The things that I am excited about in this game is 24 player multiplayer and vehicles. The only other game I am aware of that supports anything like this is Battlefield 2 from EA and it will be nice to see how Activision supports this type of play. I know multiplayer wasn’t implemented well at first in CoD2 and I think Activision has learned their lessons and has responded to gamers desires.
Well anyway I can’t wait for these games. I think the 4th quarter is going to be awesome for XBOX 360!

I agree with your selections, except I’m going to rent FF2. My fifth selection is Call of Duty 3, which I think TreyArch is going to do InfinityWard proud. CoD2 has a real nostalgia to it since it was the first game I played on the 360 when I got it on launch.. Coming home and firing that thing up and playing CoD2 that is some good memories right there.
btw - I will be looking for all of you online in Legacy. Nobody commands the Defiant better than I.

It is said that the only thing GoW wont crush is uhh that army of 2? All I know is that is a 360 title. This is from EGM.

COD3 will need a first look to make a determination. I hope it is good.
GOW is ruined IMO. They squandered their opportunity to be the first meaningful 360 clan or party based game. With all the Live supports that got pulled to make the deadline this one is shaping up to be a letdown at exactly the wrong time.
Go Viva! I’ll be trying to play this with my 3 year old.
Rainbow Vegas. Potential shown but nothing really new, at least it’s 360 native now.
Star Trek will be a good rental. Something to take a break with.
Can I even mention Huxley yet? My only fear is it will end up a GOW-style letdown. So much potential but can it be done right?
Halo3, it pains me to admit it but maybe thats the only title that could be done right. Of course they could mess it up also.
