Interesting Facts Part 2
If you remember a little over a month ago, I posted some interesting facts as it pertains to the crowd that gathers around Unsripted 360 day to day, month to month etc. Since I’m sure you all are nutcases by now with the scheduled maintenance going on, I figured I’d run through more interesting facts a month later.

These things are interesting tidbits involving keywords, countries and other things that I find interesting when I browse through some of U360’s stats. Again, I’ll list the top 2-5 things in each category. Discuss if you must.

Now that it appears the outtage will end up lasting at least 2 full days I don’t think this is only about 28 cents here. It’s about expectations, competencies, business practices and most of all accountability. In the real world at least if servers of such high value were down for this long heads would roll. For some reason though there is a “just a game” mentaility that seems to excuse it when it comes to Xbox Live. I certainly expect that Bill Gates has taken notice at this point.
a) this update better show some signs of visible and justifiable value.
b) appropreate action needs to be taken toward those responsible.
c) this needs to not happen again for awhile.
It’s starting to get pretty embarassing really. Here we are near the eve of the PS3 and the people running the single greatest selling point of the 360…Xbox Live don’t have their act together. Couple this with the “killer app” GOW multiplayer fiasco and a reasonable person will have to wonder who is shooting themselves in the foot more, Sony or MS?

Wow, Larry had to turn comments off on his site to squelch the bloodbath. Only registered users (mostly fanboys) can post there now.
Time for Gates to clean house. The problem I fear though is that the Live subscribership is a fickle and easily appeased crowd. MS need only give a free download or something to make most people forget about the whole incident.

That’s how much one day of Live costs.

I saw the site just now and the article said that they would have the forums back in 24 hours so they will be back on tommorow the 19th.

Oh my God, the Xbox 360 will fail because the forums are down!1111

LOL…no the forums will not make or break 360, especially since most users don’t even seem to know about them. Personally I was hopeing they wouldn’t return at all.
The egg on their face for having Live gameplay down for almost 2 days is another story.

The facts are about what I expected from this tech-heavy crowd.
Everyone knows that MS updates their software and if you were on XBL before the update, then you definitely saw the warning. So XBL being down for a little over a day is no big deal to the vast majority of gamers. There’s always going to be the Drama Queens that will make a mountain out of an ant hill. Thank the Lord, they are a very, very small minority.
And besides, you were still able to play your Xbox360.
