Showcase – Twylyght Myst

She’s a Dominating Diva, one of Trixie’s GamerchiX and here recently she stepped and became a Blade!  She’s all over the gaming field and ready to invite you lucky geeks into her world with a fresh, new Unscripted 360 Showcase.

Bow down when she comes to your town…

Give the world a glimpse of the lady behind the console and Gamertag?

Well I was born and raised on Kauai, Hawaii and now I currently reside in Princeton, IA which is near the Quad Cities.  I work for a major utility company in the Mid-West.  I spent 4 years in the US Marine Corps and spent a year overseas in Okinawa, Japan which I absolutely loved.  I have 4 dogs, they are my children and I have been married to Rayven Hunter for 6 years.

I started gaming back in the days of ColecoVision and slowly progressed through the years to Nintendo.  I remember playing Duck Hunter and having a blast playing with the light gun.  I dropped out of the gaming scene for a while until we got the original Xbox but when the Xbox 360 was released the flood gates opened and now I am here to stay.

Once a Marine…always a Marine!  Break down how you chose your Gamertag.

Well growing up in Hawaii I found the most beautiful time of the day was the twilight because the is day gone but it’s not quite night yet.  I find it very peaceful and calming.  Mist is because I love spooky stuff and as you see in those old horror movies the mist just creeps up on ya.  I like to be creative and different so that is why I have the y’s in my tag plus I wanted something girly and fun.

You’re a part of the Dominating Divas.  Are you more dominating or more of a diva?  Give me some scoop on this girl club of yours.

Neither actually.  As Miss Chickie says, I’m more of a “Dominated Diva”.  I play for fun first because I find that I can enjoy the games more.  Miss Chickie started this gaming group Feb. 5, 2004.  She wanted to hang with more female gamers and enjoy the craziness of gaming with a bunch of cool ladies.  We are a sisterhood of female gamers who also happen to good friends.  We have tons of fun whether it is online or in our forums. Everyone is welcome to check out our website and forums, we would love to have you.

Currently there are 12 of us, starting with Miss Chickie, FiestyFox, Lady Amberjack, Kiki Kat, RamRod330, MoxieGirl, Lady Angelic, xxPrettyKittyxx, Alfie, II Caska II, Storm777, and me!!  FiestyFox actually lives very close to me.   I met her at the beginning of September, she and her hubby, who are both wonderful, came over and partied with us this Saturday for my birthday.   Flattoad and his wife also came down, I met Flattoad through the divas also.  We had a blast it was so much fun just being able to meet some of the people I game with.  I look forward to great friendships for a long time to come.

You were recently featured on Episode #13 here on U360 for being a GamerchiX.  How has it been since we last spoke?

The GamerchiX are now up to 505 ladies.. It has been great.  Morgan over at gamercard.net created a GamerchiX leaderboard that anyone can click on and see where we are ranked. On the Xbox.com Community calendar you will see Monday nights are GamerchiX nights,  Trixie tries to keep it mixed it up, she will post a thread in our forums asking what games we would like to play each month and she will then list a couple of different games we can play together that night.
The GamerchiX forum is very active as we chat about almost everything.  If you need help with something, have a question, whatever it may be post it and the chiX will always lend a hand with a problem, have tips or suggestions to help out.   Of course it’s girls only, sorry guys!!

It ain’t no fun if….well anyway.  What made you decide to ‘Jump In’ with the Xbox 360?

Honestly,  it was the 360 dashboard, the graphics and Condemned. It blew me away. I really liked how everything was laid out and the media center is great I can just stream music from my computer instead of taking up space on the hard drive.  The graphics are amazing in most of the games I have played.  I played off and on again with the original Xbox but when we rented condemned and I popped it in, oh yeah, I was hooked and decided, oh yeah, I want my own gamertag.  I played that game for hours.

The dashboard got me too.  Has the Xbox 360 experience been a good or bad one for you?

It started out bad because I caught a lot of flak for being a girl.  It go to the point that I either didn’t talk or wear my headset while playing online.  Now it is really great, I have met a lot of great friends online who have made the gaming experience so much fun.  I feel bad sometimes for the random gamers that come into the room because we are laughing so hard.

Detail your gaming setup and a normal playing session.

This is actually going to change because we have saved up enough that I am now getting my own 360!!  I really want a Samsung 56″ Widescreen DLP Projection Television but that cost around $2800.00.  The reason for Samsung is I happened to buy a Samsung standard tv in 1999 on sale while in the Marine Corp and the tv is still going strong so for me I know it will be worth it in quality and I don’t have to worry about it dying in a hurry.  Once my home is finished being remodeled I am going to look into surround sound also.

Currently the 360 is played in the living room on a 32” RCA standard color tracks plus T.V. and it sits on its own stand so that it can get good air circulation as I don’t want it getting too hot.  I am happy with my current set up.  My normal gaming session consists of a couple of days during the work week for about 2 hours if I am on.  Saturday nights is when I really game.  I get on around 9pm and play for hours.

Which title is getting the most playing time on your Xbox 360?

Actually, several of them are.  Prey got a lot of love last night, Burnout Revenge, and Ninety Nine Nights.

Which would you say has been the most surprising title on the 360 so far?

I would have to say Oblivion.  The graphics are stunning and I love the fact that I have logged hours upon hours of game play and still have yet to complete it.  There is so much to do especially with the new content on the marketplace.

What’s your most anticipated Xbox 360 title?

I am kind of conflicted now.  It was Gears of War because I like to blow stuff up…but now that Assassin’s Creed  is supposed to be coming to the 360 my curiosity has got the best of me.  I ‘m really into the stealthy games so I can’t wait.

Gears of War

Do you play for Gamerscore or Achievements?

I play for achievements.. There is something addicting about hearing that little pop up and seeing it blink on the screen.  It is a sense of pride, yes, some achievements are easier than others but it’s a good feeling to know that I actually accomplished it myself.

The Tokyo Game Show and X06 recently ended with lots of fantastic news.  What was the best news from the show to you?

Hearing about Lost Odyssey was probably the best news for me.  I am a big fan of role playing games and I love Oblivion and Fable so I am excited that there will be another big RPG releasing on the 360.  It is a turned based attack system and will be fighting against robots in the game but it is supposed to still have fantasy elements so I am interested to see how it turns out.

What’s your opinion of the Xbox Live Marketplace and what the future may hold for it?

I love the marketplace and feel it is a great idea.  It seems the possibilities are endless.  I can see Microsoft creating an adapter so that an additional hard drive can be attached and you can download movies from the marketplace to your hard drive.

Name one thing you wouldn’t give up, feature wise, on the Xbox 360.

Wow this is a hard one.  Hmm, I would have to say the friends list and being able to message people.  How else would I be able to spam you??  Also the Xbox Community for bringing people around the world that much closer to each other.

Your spam is good spam.  Do you plan to purchase any of the new accessories for the 360…Live Vision Camera, HD-DVD and others?

I plan on buying the vision camera, since someone I know but won’t mention any names *Cough* Deacon *Cough* told me that Totemball was really fun but you need the camera to play.  So I have the game but sadly no camera.  I am looking into getting a wireless headset.  I have this little habit of accidentally unplugging myself.  I am going to have to wait on the HD-DVD, no HDTV yet but soon and this way I can get a feel from other gamers how the like.  Oh I hear you giggling Deacon, don’t make me come and get yours.

Lol.  Hey my lips are sealed.  What do you think of the Xbox Live Vision Camera?

From what I have seen of it, I like it so far that is until I run into people doing things I don’t want to be seeing then I will have to tape a picture of my dog up there or maybe my fish.  It looks like it is going to be fun to have especially with friends in UNO.  One night in UNO one the gamers on my friends list, Kente, decided to show us his McDonald’s drive through impression and that consisted of only hearing part of what he was saying since he was turning the mic on and off.  I laughed so hard and having the camera and watching him do it made it hilarious!!

I better not do my Burger King impression then.  What would you like to see added in the upcoming Fall Xbox 360 Update?

I would like to see multi-gamer private chat so you can talk to more than just one friend or gamer at a time.  Other than that I really have no complaints and I feel Microsoft is doing a great job with the updates.  I got to see some of the screenshots for the Dashboard update and it looks good.

Ok.  One game.  One shot.  You against TriXie.  Who wins and what game are you playing?

Umm, do I really have to answer this one Deacon??  I really like being an Xbox Ambassador and don’t want to be demoted!!  I love you Trixie!!  Just Kidding.  I would have to say Burnout Revenge but I think Trixie would win because I have mastered the ancient art that is wrecking.  I total my car, no matter which one I drive, about every 500 feet.  But I love it, I have so much fun playing online.

TriXie sucks at anything that’s not Zuma, you might take her.  Any parting words?

First of all I gotta give love to Deacon, thanks for showcasing me you are awesome and always great to chat and game with and thank you for keeping us updated on what’s going on in the world of Xbox 360.  To Trixie for coming up with the great idea of Gamerchix and her Xbox undercover articles.  To my Husband Rayven Hunter for having to put up with me. To all of the Dominating Divas, Miss Chickie, FiestyFox, Kiki Kat and to all of my friends that I game with Fenris Kain, BendamSandfleck, Flattoad, MoshPitVet, Snoops, and all the rest of my friends for being truly awesome.  And no Fenris you can’t have your money back in Texas Hold’em until Deacon gives me mine back.  Happy gaming everyone!!

Deacon gives no refunds or money back for dominating Texas Hold ‘Em.  Thanks Twylyght for an awesome Showcase!
