Viva Piñata & Others
That’s right, I said Viva Piñata. I was speaking with someone yesterday and we had a few laughs about the two of us perhaps being the only adults anticipating this release. When it was first announced, I had my reservations but after seeing and reading more about it, it’s quickly become one of my most anticipated titles. Not only for me, but for the gang of kids that often visit to play the Xbox 360 at my place.
It also got me thinking about other titles that I’d like to see on the Xbox 360 to give parents even more of a reason this holiday season to get on board beyond Viva Piñata or Open Season.
Psychonauts. Remember Voodoo Vince? Although Oddworld was bordeline kiddy, I think it would be great on the Xbox 360. These are just a few titles that I’d like to see next-gen versions of. Does Sonic the Hedgehog count after having no fun with the demo?

If Viva Pinata takes off with kids (the cartoon already has, so it’s looking pretty likely), I expect to see more kiddy games (not that adults wont play Viva Pinata, I might get it) come out of Microsoft Game Studios, including sequels to this game.
We probably wont see much out of third parties except games based on kids’ movies.

I’ve been looking forward to Viva Pinata since the day I heard it announced.

I showed my gf this game and she is very interested in it. So far reminds me of “Animal Crossing” on acid.

the show doesn’t come on here in the Uk as far as I know and that could be a problem for sales of the game.

I’ve always liked the looks and idea of Viva Pinata.
What cinched the deal for me though is when you suggested this as a “family time” game. I’m going to see if my 3 year old wants to play it.

Unfortunately, the Oddworld company is gone, so I dont expect we will be seeing any new oddworld games for a long time.
I am also looking forward to this game, and even the new banjo game that was announced at x06, I just love games that are fun, kiddy or not, fun is fun.
