If EA are to innovate the skating genre then they'd have to have a control method that people could feel comfortable with.
I don't see that happening as everybody is now used to the Tony Hawks control mechanics. Simply copying that is not an option for EA as they're already getting crap for copying Konamis Winning Eleven series.
It could be great, but it could equally go horribly wrong.

What do I have to say? While the new Tony Hawk game is supposed to be a competely new build, it's just old. The second instalment of Tony Hawk was really a great game, but I think there's really not anywhere to go with this genre and a sequel to the franchise only means new area to explore, maybe some new game modes, and upgrades in the graphics department. If EA can find a way to invigorate a skateboarding game then more power to them, I just don't see it happening. Plus, most of the time in gaming competition is good, but this is EA people, let us not forget that.

well see its EA afterall, project 8 looks pretty cool and theres alot of TH fans out there. I think EA will have to prove what they say to provide a good alternative to the TH series.
