Has a game’s exclusivity ever been more debated than this Ubisoft title? Is it PS3 only or Xbox 360 only or is it coming to both? Even as the game is still months and months from release, it has managed to stir up quite the buzz around the Xbox 360 community.
Well Ubisoft today announced that it is indeed headed to the Xbox 360 but then who didn’t know that? We are talking about a company who’s entries into exclusive titles could be counted on one hand if not 2 fingers. Ubisoft believes in making money as do most companies and the most effective way to do that is to offer multiple versions of a title across multiple platforms.
“For all Xbox 360 gamers out there, we have some great news! Assassin’s Creed on Xbox 360 has been confirmed for release in early 2007 - the same time as the PlayStation 3 version.”

I’m not quite sure what all the buzz is over this game anyway considering not much has been shown outside of the E3 2006 flash earlier this year and some screenshots.

Just thought those two stories are interesting to look at now that Ubisoft has confirmed it. No shock here that it’s coming, I figured it was common knowledge since just after E3 was over.

yeah i figured it was common knowledge even before E3 lol first signs on a game not being exclusive is a company’s unwillingness to simply promote it from jump as an exclusive. usually, that’s how it’s done…usually that would be the first announcement of anything exclusive.
not a surprise in my book.

I always understood it would be multi-platform as well.

Just from the E3 demo, it looks to be a good game, even if its on the 360.
I thought this would be a PS3 exclusive but I guess not.
Metal Gear Solid on the 360?? (that doesn’t even sound right).That’s like Halo coming to the PS3. But Resident Evil 4 was exclusive to the Gamecube when it came out and a year later it was on the PS2 so I guess anything is possible.

I’m super pumped for this game. It’s being made by the same team as Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, one of the best games of last gen if you ask me.

It definatley has a kickass concept but I really wanna see some actual gameplay footage, you know, not a target visual.

MGS4 is the sequel to MGS2, which was on the Xbox. Konami is not stupid, if the PS3 is getting trashed in sales, they’re not going to limit their profits for some cultural loyalty.

Kojima has said on several seperate occassions that he doesn’t like ports and he doesn’t like 360. That doesn’t mean it’s not possible though, as many Japanese developers say things like that then change their minds (Silent Hill to Xbox, Resident Evil 4 to PC and PS2, etc.).

It was more, he prefers other platforms over it, which is fancy talk for saying its shit.
I’m happy with just Assassins Creed, with other titles liek Bioshock, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Forza 2, Gears of War, Crackdown, Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six only on the 360 as next gen games, I think I can manage without MGS.

From all the interviews I have read, it just sounded like he didn’t like to port his games. He said that the Xbox 360 could run MGS4 just as well, and that is was a great system as far as I remember. He’s also banking on the PS3 actually doing well, and who knows if it will. He’s not going to exclusively release “his last” MGS on a botched console.

If halo 3 comes to ps3 i quit this video game thing!! if they steal our precious halo 3 ill be pissed.
