Marketplace News from Leipzig

Remember that one time in band camp when the Marketplace kept getting better and better?  Well judging from recent comments from Microsoft 3rd party Account Manager, Stephen Blackburn, that band camp experience is about to be reality.

Comments by Blackburn while presenting at the Games Convention in Leipzig hinted at ‘in-game enumeration of content’, Live Anywhere titles in 2007, and the ability to preview the things that you download.  ‘In-game enumeration of content’ would see gamers able to download the things they’d normally hit the Marketplace up for, right in the game.  So instead of accessing the 360 dashboard for a new car, you could ‘potentially’ go right into the garage of a game and buy it.  I’m all for that as it adds to the game and keeps you ‘in’ the game longer.

Previewing content is already in place to some degree but again, ‘potentially’ you’ll be able to see it all before you buy it.

These are just a few notes I ran across flying around the news scene.
