MIA – Xbox Live Diamond Card?
Remember a few months back when all the buzz was about this particular card? I do. There was a frenzy across the Xbox 360 community from thousands wishing to join up and get this cool little perk for being a 12-month subscriber to Xbox Live.

Where has the buzz gone? Where has the focus shifted to? Did you get your card and the excitement ended? Do you still not have one? Is Canada or any other country going to be included?
What say you to this?

You would have thought that it was the equivalent of winning the lottery by reading what everyone was writing about the Diamond Card. Yeah, I did get one – but the times I’ve used it = 0. I only wanted it to have it :p heh heh heh

I got one, but considering the only good deal I noticed was something off ferraris, I realized I probably wouldn’t be buying one anytime soon so I put it away.

the buzz was lotto crazy indeed..i’ve heard from most people about the ‘meaningful’ deals not being something for the average person.

I remember hearing alot of talk about the cards. There was mention of the scheme moving to Europe, but I doubt thats gonna happen looking at its success.

you dont need the card at all to get the perks you have to email them and then they email you the coupon!!! its not like a card where they swipe it you hvae to show them a coupon its funny but i think we should all get one so we can be in this little gang and the only way to get in was by having one like a secret password but with the cards get it

i think most people expected a card you’d have to swipe instead of just access to print coupons.

I used my card like one time at pappa john’s and not since then. I don’t like that i have to print out cupons to take advantage of the deal’s. I don’t know why MS didn’t put more into the program.
Like a barcode or better yet maybe an FYI to the partiscipating retailer’s. I hate when i tired to use it that one time the employee’s were looking at me like i was outta my mind and didn’t know what the diamond card was!

I’ve used mine about 3 times at Quiznos. Most of the time I forget I have it.
Plus the deals at many places are not nearly as good as when it first started.

I used mine once at Quiznos too. My problem with it is that so many of the stores offering discounts aren’t in my area. I was expecting more relating to gaming. It would be nice if Gamestop or EBGames gave some kind of good bonus for it.
Maybe Deacon should get someone from the XBOX team who is involved with the Goldcard Promotion to speak on the podcast. I’ll give a hand and see if I can dig up a name or two.
BTW Gifter, I think your idea of a Texas Holdem night is a great idea. I am going to make sure I get the game for FREE. I won’t be able to play until Wednesday evening but if you see me online send me an invite!
Does anyone know max players for Texas Holdem?

that’s not a bad idea to try and speak with someone behind the card.

I got mine and the only good deal was on movie rentals. I don’t rent lots of movies so it’s sitting in my wallet still.

i think its 8 people per table so we can probably get a couple of people there at the table

I really think that if they got rid of the printing coupons thingy and went to showing the card it would be alot more popular. I do know some people in certain areas that don’t have that many deals but I actually have some pretty good deals and would use them more if I didn’t have to print the coupons all the time.
