Xbox Live Vision Camera w/GTR

You want it…you know you want it…I sure want it…and Godfree, Microsoft Xbox MVP and host of Gamertag Radio, rubs it right in our shiny little faces.

Take a look here. Godfree even gives us a taste of the custom Gamerpic functionality that so many have been screaming for. One note…only those on your friend’s list will be able to see your custom Gamerpic.

Care to share the awesome sauce?

That’s way smaller than I was expecting. The friend’s list thing is a good idea too.

If you have an experience on Xbox Live of that nature, you can always use the “File Complaint” option in the guide

I’m hoping that people use this camera responsible. . . friends don’t let friends pose drunk… passed out maybe, but not drunk :p heh heh heh

I am really excited about the camera not so much so people can see me but for the possibilities with regard to games. I never owned a PS2 but I have seen some of the innovative titles for the Eyetoy. I don’t thing developers have really taken this concept to the extreme. Think about a game like the upcoming Red Steel (coming for the Wii) but instead of having to use motion sensing controllers, the camera relates actual body movement to the avatar on screen! This would be awesome. It would also lend itself to games for non-gamers. The controls could simply be point at something on the screen to select it. I can imagine great kids games that my little 1 1/2 year old can play. I hope developers get jazzed about this.

In addition to motion sensing I am also looking forward to games like Rainbow Six Las Vegas in which you can put your face on your avatar, then when you run up to a friend you wouldn’t have to look for the floating name over their avatar, you just look at them and know who they are. This makes the virtual world much cooler.

Hope more info including price comes out soon!

The camera adds a level of fun that I didn’t think it would. It is really fun just joking with friends and such.

I’d buy one if I didnt have one already.
